Congrats on the bike AND best buddy/wife.
A little satin black Rustoleum on a throw away dollar brush and you'll never see the mark on the bar.
Thanks for the tip, we're gonna try out the shinko 805 soon, don't have much dirt experience, hope fully they will help keep us upright in the sand.

That phone mount is a great idea. I like your light bar, too. Post a link?

Also, good job to your wife. That's pretty awesome.
The phone mount only works with my life proof case. And it's broken twice now. But I still like it.

The light bar I'm not sure I would recommend. The beam is too focused for my tastes. I don't have much to compare it to tho.

The 805s will help with sand but none of the big bikes do well in sand till going really fast.

Here is another idea for fitting a phone mount etc onto the skinny 1/2" crossbar. I bought a 1/2" id by 1" od metal bushing off of the net real cheap. Then I split it in half with a cutoff saw on a Dremel tool and painted it black. My mount comes with plastic inserts to fit either 3/4", 1", 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" bars. The 1" just seemed like a nice size to go with.

She got back up faster than I did and was ready to rock. Even helped me wash the dirt off after we got home.
:'( I want a wife like yours! Mine never ever helped me wash a bike...and I have to wash her car when she politely "demand" ::024::

On August 24th my wife surprised me at work with the keys to a new S10.
That's just so awesome. Congrats! My wife pulled a similar surprise for me with my Tenere back in 2013. Talked me into stopping at a dealership one day while were out doing something completely unrelated. Walked me in the door to find a, "sold", sign on the bike with my name on it. Coulda knocked me over with a feather. ::012::

I feel your pain brother! I had to "explain" to my wife why I was getting my Tenere. These lucky guys have wives that are "making" them get one. I had a boss whose wife would buy him custom pistols....for no reason other than love. (sigh)

I'll admit, That was the first time she has helped me wash a bike since I started riding in 2010. And her first off, we're both learning about this off road stuff

These shinkos are bad ass. They sound like mud tires on the pavement, but they look real cool. In the sand they aren't magical but help a whole lot more that the battle wings.

We'll see, I've read so many different testimonies on all the popular ones. I got these from a friend, I've never road off road oriented tires.

Found some more black reflective vinyl in my stash and covered up my tank boo boo and covered the reflectors.

Also touched up the crash bars with black satin crylon.

The Cobalt Blue is gorgeous. My first thought when I got mine was "I'm gonna cry when I scratch this paint". I've always chosen white for my other vehicles just for the ease of maintenance. I DO like your fix though. ::008:: Were you able to find a reverse for the other side?
