Well... Life has been pretty exciting lately.

This summer, in the July time frame, my wife and I are moving our family to Minneapolis. My wife's immediate and extended family is there, we have a 5 month old and want to be closer to family. We are moving from Seattle.

So, how is the riding around there? I am originally from MI, moved out the Seattle in 2004. loving forward to moving back east.

I grew up in Mpls but left in 1981. The majority of my family is still up there so I visit at least once a year. Other than the weather it's a great place to live. Did not ride while I lived there so can't comment on that specifically, but the terrain in most of the state is gentle hills with lots of tree and lakes. Some very flat open areas (farmland) in the south and west parts of the state, but northern MN is awesome. Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Lake Superior, etc. Like MI, look out for deer. Wish you the best up there - I think you'll love it.

There is a lot of nice riding close to the twin cities. Northern Minnesota, Lakes country, Wisconsin Lacrosse area. Welcome to the Midwest when you arrive.

Enjoy, I also have some routes coming back to Milwaukee that are good, and you don't need to go the whole way to experience the best of it. As for day riding, I have no clue.

Good timing ... get there round about July ... Just in time for the onset of the seemingly perpetual winter. I lived there for a year ... boy that was a cold year. I was designed for the warmth of the South.

I hear there are many apples there … otherwise, I know very little about the place. R Good luck with the move. ::008::

If we didn't have kid(s), we would be moving someplace warm and sunny, although I doubt I could talk my wife into Texas. That family support structure is priceless.

One the kid(s) is out of high school we are moving on to warmer sunnier climates.

Hey Kelvininin, I live in Minneapoils, just got a Super Ténéré. Lots of fun places to ride here no matter what kind of riding you're looking for.

Hello from St Paul. I just got a new '12 and two riding mates are on S10s as well. Lots of nice riding along eastern side of state . Easy trips into fantastic riding in WI. I missed where you were in MN??

welcome to Miniappleless. The best thing you can say about the roads is that you are about 70 miles northwest of the alphabet roads of Western Wisconsin (go to Lake a Pepin and hook a left, anywhere) and about 600 miles east of the Badlands (be sure to go to Custer). A shot or two of either should hold you for a good long time.

Surprised how slow this forum is. Just installed the Givi racks for the outback boxes. Running my wolfman bags on them for the rest if this season.

Picked up the necessaries for putting in fresh fluids. Then I get a last minute freelance job so my Tenere day is probably shot. :(
