So after 2 years and 20,000 miles I have moved on from my Super Tenere. She has been a good bike. But I missed the hit of a good engine which as good as the motor is on the Tenere is it just didn't light my fire. But a great bike. I replaced it with the 2015 KTM 1190 Adventure. Great site here learned a lot and purchased good products. I'll have a few items for sale soon seat, K60 gently used tires. But thanks all. Here is the new ride.

the 1190's are great motors, save for the dusting issue. If you haven't done it already, get the uni filter installed, or rotweiller makes an aftermarket jobbie.
Great motors, that blow the tenere out of the water. Reliability will hopefully be good.

Oh, apparently they addressed the heat issue by fitting dual wall exhaust pipes

Great looking bike. Enjoy it. One question, though... what's that odd-looking gold-colored thing I see both above and below the driveshaft housing/swingarm? O:)

I do believe they are called 'chains', very messy, bitch to clean up and apparently they need lubing every 600-800 miles.

Oh! How ...odd. I thought chains only belong driving camshafts, or maybe multi-row chains in primary drive applications. Is this an innovation on KTM's part, or a retro touch?

Where have you been man? Retro is in now! ::017::

Having said that, it is a cool looking machine, despite the chain thingy.

Chain or no chain...that is a sweet bike. As much as I like my Tenere, I could see myself on one of those. KTM has likely worked out the filter issue. Just a little more than I wanted to spend and I wanted a bike for the long haul, hence I went with the Tenere.

Beautiful! That is one beautiful bike! I'm really tempted to do as you did! Would love to hear how it works out for you down the road after some miles!

Awesome bike, congrats! A friend at work just bought an 1190 R. Haven't ridden it yet, but when I sat on it and lifted it off the side stand, I was jealous. Felt as light as a bicycle compared to my S10.

there's the catch. I love the 1190R. Gobs of power light, with all the stuff. But alarm bells go off, when the customer needs to fit a new filter system to a $20k bike. Still love them. Not sure If I would own one.
