Yes I did buy a crazy expensive brand new Zumo a couple weeks ago, so far have only used it on my Goldwing but will be heading to Idaho and Canada in a couple weeks very likely with the Tenere so would like to mount the Zumo on it, I'm thinking of mounting it to the front left handlebar mount bolt using one of these https://www.rammount.com/activity/motorcycle-bases#handlebarclamp-base Has anyone else here used this method ? Or any other suggestions ?
The biggest thing that got me wanting a Zumo 595 was the adventurous road feature, at times it's great but there are times when it's simply stupid, like yesterday it wound up taking us down a 5 mile gravel road even though it was set for no gravel, but that was the first time that happened to me, and the gravel road was straight as an arrow for the entire 5 miles.

I put a 395 Zumo on mine and used a Touratech locking mount to locate it above my speedo and tach. I had to fabricate a 1/2" diameter accessory bar as I have a 2013 model. Your 595 is a big heavy unit, not to mention expensive. Check out the Touratech website they also have a nice accessory bar that mounts to the handlebar clamps. The Ram mount might work for you, but the TT mount will be more secure. I'm not a big fan of the Ram mounts. I leave my 395 on the bike all the time.

Magic thanks for your reply, is this the Touratech mount your referring to ? https://touratech-usa.com/Store/GPS-Handlebar-Bracket-Adapter-Yamaha-XT1200Z-Super-Tenere-up-to-2013 Yes I was considering that very nice mount but the RAM mount that simply replaces one of handlebar mounting bolts seems simpler, cheaper and easier . My old GPS is a 5 inch Nuvi, because of my lousy closeup vision a smaller screen like the 395 would be very difficult for me to use otherwise I might have bought one. The Nuvi was mounted with a RAM handlebar mount right dead center but it pretty much blocked the view of the gas gauge that and the fact that the Zumo is to heavy for the old mount is why I thought maybe moving it to the left might help. I've been using RAM mounts on motorcycles for over 300,000 miles and have mostly been very well satisfied.

Yes, that would be the one. You could combine that with TT locking mount #065-079x. Kind of expensive, but it would give you a nice secure installation. I hear you about the eyesight problem, I wear no line bifocals and it can be difficult to read the GPS at times. I prefer the GPS closer to my line of vision, rather than looking down at it. That's why I mounted it over the speedo and tach. I have Ram mounts on my boats and like them, but I just don't care for the way they look on a motorcycle. Kind of big and bulky looking and it would be easy to steal a GPS off a bike. I think Ram makes a locking knob for their mounts.

I have a Zumo 590 previous model but same size GPS.
I have mounted it on the left side of handle bar using the Garmin supplied RAM U mount.
(supplied is like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAM-Mount-Motorcycle-Clutch-Brake-Handlebar-Kit-RAM-B-309-7U-/232339952652?hash=item36188a540c:g:v3sAAOSw8lpZHSY5 )

It's a really good position as it is close to left hand to operate it, play my mp3 music etc

when I went to pick up my S10 I fitted the GPS like so:
[smg id=3066, type=full]

My bike has been farkeld but the GPS is in the same spot still:
[smg id=3067, type=full]

That's what I used also. Originally I had a Garmin 52 on this SWM mount. When I got my 395 I wanted the locking mount from Touratech, so I built an accessory bar that bolts to the SWM mount. I used a short piece of 1/2" diameter aluminium rod and a couple of angle brackets that bolt to the SWM mount. I'll try and post some pictures soon and I'll try and send some to Cycledude.

Cycledude I have a few Garmin GPSs. Here's 3 different mounts in one pic.

I used a simple length of alloy angle to make a farklebar mounted on the handlebar clamps. I have 3 RAM mounts attached to the bar.

The old 550 on the left sits in a Touratech mount on one RAM ball. The 590 on the right just has the RAM mount plate that came in the box. The 660 up front is also on a hidden RAM mount attached to my checkerplate screen. Your 2013 can use one of the mounts mentioned above, but that is a nice position for an unobstructed view just below your line of sight.

Thanks for all the replies ! I like the sw mototech mount but would have had to order it from http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motech-vibration-damped-quick-release-gps-holder-yamaha-xt1200z-super-tenere-10 Their site is not clear if it will work with a Zumo 595 and it also says it will not work with the Yamaha side wind deflectors which my bike has so I just said forget it and ordered the $13 RAM ball and bolt kit from eBay that will replace one of the handlebar clamp bolts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAM-B-367U-Ram-Mounts-Motorcycle-Handlebar-Clamp-Base-with-M8-Screws/121800859349?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The 595 will fit as it's the same dimensions as my 590 you just need to get the optional adapter they sell, also i have the wind deflectors fitted with the SW mount with no problems.

That's pretty much what I figured but since I'm wanting to leave on a trip with it on the 22nd I didn't want to take the chance, that twisted throttle outfit needs to work on the website.

I tagged mine onto the underside of the 12v power outlet,i don't use it for anything so it seemed an easy option and it is ignition controlled.
Thanks when the mounting bracket arrives I will checkout the outlet.
My Goldwing came from the factory with a fuse box with a nice set of key switched power screws so that's what I used there.

If you don't have the OEM heated grips or the OEM spotlights there are the spare connectors in the loom under the right hand side panel that you could use, there are quite a few threads somewhere on the forum about these,i have both thses items fitted to my bike so that wasn't an option for me.

tHANKS OEM spotlights is something my bike does not have so I will be looking for those connectors.
