All S10s have the plastic base under the top plate. You remove the stock plate & using the longer bolts & spacers provided by Givi in the SRA2101 Monokey kit... mount their alloy plate to the plastic base.

The Givi SR2101 kit includes steel base brackets with a universal M5 Monokey plastic plate. You remove both the stock base & plate to mount this or the SR2101M

The SR2101M kit is only the steel brackets for use with a M5M Monolock plate which comes included with Monolock cases
There is also an alloy plate which has the same mount hole pattern as the M5/M5M
Its the M8 for Monokey

Yes, it does fit without removing the OEM grab rails or side cases. However, the Givi Trekker 52l top case is too wide to operate the side case top doors without them contacting the top case. You can "bend them" around, which puts stress on the hinge of the side case lid, or just remove the top case when you need to get into the side cases. I did not measure the difference in mounting location but I would say its at least 2.5 inches. With the Givi backrest installed on the 52l trekker she had me pressed up against the tank, now I can sit all the way back in the seat, and she's still not crowding me at all. It's a very pleasant two up ride. She says she feels more comfortable being able to lean up against the backrest.
Great information, ordered the Altrider Plate in preference to the Givi.

I have the large Givi Outback trekker topcase, smaller left/larger right side cases. The left lid clears the topcase without stressing the hinge. The right side I have to press the lid release button, which allows the lid to pivot enough to clear the case. Then I release the button which allows the lid to stay attached. Reversing the process to close.
It's not much of a bother, but I may get the other mounting plate to set the topcase back if I ever need to ride 2up.

I also discovered that the new SW Motech SteelRack plate I have for 2012-16 DL650 Stroms has the exact same mount hole spacing on fwd outer holes as the Givi SRA2101.
It would only need a couple of holes drilled to match the ones in the Yamaha plastic base. One center fwd & one counter sink rear center. Need 2 long spacers for fwd bolts & 2 short for center bolts.
The Motech VStrom plate moves the case slightly rearward compared to the SRA2101 plate
