I’m getting ready to head down to Colorado/Utah from Vancouver Island in a couple weeks, and it’s right in time for new tires. Popped into the bike shop today to have a chat, and since my new favourite e07’s aren’t available to me, I’m looking for something new.

I went in to order some tractionator GPS, but after looking at the adventures, I’m pretty torn. The Mitas were a fine tire, but some squirrelly sandy bits on the wabdr got me thinking I might need something a touch more aggressive.

Has anybody run these? The ADV forum has pretty mixed reviews about them, but I’d love to hear some tenere-ers thoughts on them.

Are they going to be enough tire to get me out and home? 10000 or so km (I think) Do you hate them? Did they fall apart? We’re they amazing?

So many questions!

Also, the search function returned almost nothing about them, and I’m sorry to have to start another tire thread.

I ran a set of the Tractionator Adventure tires on the tenere.

They lasted a LONG time, over 5500 miles and the set wore out at the same time.

Never the most confident feeling on pavement or dirt, but they never really slipped either. Took them all over NV, UT, CA.

Not sure if the GPS is a less aggressive version though.

Also ran the Tractionator H/T on my 701, really fantastic everywhere but only lasted 1600 miles.

I was planning to ride the MABRD this spring and I needed tires before I left.
Since the original E07 were not available I had replaced the rear with an E07 plus.
After 3500 miles it was down to about 4 mm of tread at the the wear bar.

I didn't think it would go the distance so I bought a set of the Tractionator GPS.

Overall I have been fairly impressed with the GPS.
During the MABRD ride I put on about 700 interstate miles, 800 miles of other paved roads and 500 miles of gravel.
I now have about 3000 miles on the tires with about 8 mm of tread left at the wear bars.
I've ridden in dry, rain, rocks and some muddy conditions.

I would have to rate the performance of the rear GPS as very comparable to the E07
The only downside, and this has been mentioned by several others, are small cracks in the tire casing and the tread.
You can see them in the pic.

I feel like the front GPS is not quite as good as the E07. It has a little more tendency to wash out in really loose conditions but adaquate on pavement and in the rain.
It does not appear the have the small cracks that the rear has.

Overall I feel like the GPS is s tough durable tire and a good alternative to the original E07.
