“In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame.

On a cycle the frame is gone. You're completely in contact with it all. You're in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming.”

“Other people can talk about how to expand the destiny of mankind. I just want to talk about how to fix a motorcycle. I think that what I have to say has more lasting value.”

If your not riding on the edge,

You are just taking up space.

"There are only 3 sports, Mt. Climbing, Bull Fighting, and Motor Racing.

All the rest are merely games"

Ernest Hemingway

Life begins at 30,
But doesn't get real interesting until about 150!

When asked why I ride.
" life is short and your dead a long time"

If you have ridden with me or seen my bike, I have a JB sticker. He is a buddy of mine that died of a stroke a few years back. In out area he really was a legend, a true warrior on wheels. Over 40, over weight, smoked and drank like a fish..............come sunday he was in front. Balls out on the trail or doing a event. He won an AMA plate just before passing, Mid South Winter series 4 stroke. The only thing harder than winning was keeping it, he defended it and won it a second year in a row. despite all the competition, he was ALWAYS talking up to the other riders on how they can improve, he loved teaching and wanted EVERYONE to be better and more competitive. A true gentleman................

A couple of my favorites:

Regarding wearing gear on hot days - "It's better to sweat than to bleed."

"Some men ride scooters rather than motorcycles because they like to feel the wind on their vagina."

I liked this one so I stole it...

"The act of riding is a form of meditation, because the concentration that's required to safely ride a motorcycle tends to focus the mind in a way that eliminates other mental distractions that might interfere with the mission."

Most people crash because they give up on the turn. Just tip it in and BELIEVE
