Great report and pictures. Thanks for sharing! Have fun at the rally in TN. My grand daughter is getting baptized that weekend, so I won't be going. I'll be around SE IA more this fall, hope to catch you soon.

Love the old mining history! Thanks for sharing. Did you see any interesting rocks in the spoil piles? Hard to be hauling rocks home on the bike, especially two-up, but treasures are worth it. When in the Black Hills I keep an eye out for dirt roads that look to be paved with white rocks. Those roads usually lead to old (WWII vintage) pegmatite mines where you can find nice rock and mineral samples.

We never found any gold this trip but I do enjoy looking through the mine dumps. We have found nice rocks before.
We picked up the trail maps of the Black Hills and want to head up there maybe next year with a dirt bike and Michelle's Raptor.

I try and go to Montana and ride with my Army buddy every year. its AWESOME out there! I've been to Granite and a few others. I stayed in Philipsburg the entire time the first time out. My buddy moved to Whitefish, up by Glacier National Park so thats where i was last year. I need to just move out there..lol. Love the pics!!IMG-20180906-WA0000.jpg
