Warning - modding is addicting!

With that said please share any info about mods you've done to the ST, or questions about other modifications. Bonus points to the first person to wire in a cigarette lighter adapter from Walmart.

Dumb question re the the 12v socket.

The European owner's manual shows a 12v socket in the dash. Is that the case with the US version?

Thanks,
B.

Surely not ... it's a freakin' adventure bike. I don't recall the blurb saying that the socket is only for the Special Edition bike.

It was never listed as a first edition extra, I thought it was just standard equip.

Mine isnt first edition, just standard Aussie issue and I can confirm it's there on our versions.
I added the headlight protection last week and once the shock of the price wears off, I am happy.
Looks great and should be cheaper than new headlights.
Have also added panniers (Yamaha), sump guard and the new Zorst goes on this week.
The dealer has the remus on his and it sounds awesome so couldnt help myself.

i am hoping the hole made from the cigarette lighter isn't too big that i won't be able to use my Powerlet outlets on there instead of cig. lighter. Powerlets are better by far.

You'll need an adaptor. I have the powerlets one .... does the job nicely.

Yes, I have a Canadian bike (Tenere) and the OEM dash 12 volt socket outlet is fused at only 2 amps, just be careful what you plug into the socket or you will have to remove the RH covers to change the fuse.
