This isn't on my Tenere but I know a lot of you all ride Dual Sport bikes also so I'll just show you some of the pictures from a four day ride in Moab this last weekend.
We [Four of us] parked the van and packed up our bikes with camping gear and extra fuel and was planning on staying three nights out on the trails.
Not everything always goes as planned.

First on our list was Top of the World.

My son-in-law "Joey" XT250

My son "Eric" 690 KTM

A friend of Eric's that lived with us when he was in high school "Dakota" XCW250 KTM

My bike WR250R

So up to the TOTW.

Then we headed for The Rose Garden.

Then we thought we would work our way around the La Sal Mountains.
It didn't work out quite like we planned.
The mud turned into snow until we just came to a stop.

So this is where our bikes spent the night, stuck in the middle of the road.

While we went into the woods and found a bare ground area.

Don't even ask if it got cold that night. :'(

It froze hard enough over night that in the morning we just got up on top of the snow and rode right out.

So we rode down south of Moab and ended up riding Kane Creek Trail. That is different than Kane Creek road.

Then we rode up above Moab to look for more good trails and a place to camp for the night.
When we turned off on the trail there was four guys loading up after riding the trail and they was laughing at us for heading up this trail with camping gear on our bikes.
At the end of the trail when we came out the other end the next day there was a sign that said [ This is where you turn back to the high way, From here on only Expert Riders with high endurance ]
That leaves me out.

Then it was time to camp.

I am SOOO looking forward to September! I'm planning to ship one of the bikes and you have me thinking it'll be the 690.

Thanks guys, It was a fun trip.
My tent is called a bivy tent and it is super accept is hard to get in and out of. [My head light melted holes all through it one day, Time for a new one]
Eric and Dakota had Bivy sacks. Erics is a military Gor- Tex and Dakotas is a cheap one . They like the size but said you could suffocate in them.
Checkswrecks, No 690s allowed at a Super Tenere rally. That would be cheating. ;)

So the next morning we got up early and was ready to hit the trail.

This is how the boys sleep in them bivy sacks.

The trail still had the three D.D. sections , Golden Crack, Double Whammy and Golden Stairs.

This would be part of Double Whammy.
There was no run at it.
Only the 690 and XCW made it up unassisted. Kids ::26::

Then we headed for some of the White Rim Trail in Canyon Lands N.Park.

Then that night we camped back at the van so we could ride the last day with no camping gear or extra fuel. [Light bikes finally ]

The last morning we headed down to the Elephant Hill area.
That is the only place one can see the confluence of the Green And Colorado Rivers.
It is also the area that has The Joint.

Start of Elephant Hill.
This hill just about killed me later in the day on the other side when we were going up it.
No pictures of the other side but it was one nasty hill. Going down wasn't bad but on the way up I was so out of control it was crazy.
I never went down but in all reality I should have all kinds of broken bones.
I'll never go over it again.

We first went to the Joint.

Then we headed for the River overlook.

When we got on our bikes to leave the confluence I told the boys we are officially headed back home now.

We made it back over The Hill and loaded up the van for home.
We had a great four days of riding.
It may not look like it but we never rode off trail.
These trails are very remote and can be hard to follow.
There is also so many trails going off in all directions even with a topo map be willing to get off on the wrong trail and end up in totally a different place than you thought you were going.
We made a few mistakes here and there but got some things figured out too.
Next time we will have a base camp and ride naked bikes, no more of that extra weight.
Eric said he will never ride that big bike out here again, only his 250 2stroke from now on. [Like Dakota's bike] one hundred pounds lighter.
I'll probable stick with milder trails and let the young boys have more fun. [I'm a two time grandpa ]
I have to grow up some day.

Well 30 miles out side of Moab in the middle of nowhere I took this last picture.
Just when you think your a tuff guy some old miner from years ago who needed a drink of water shows you just how chicken we really are.
How would you like to climb down this to the river for your water every day?

When I get the boy's picture, if they have any good ones I'll post them up here too.

Thanks for reading.
May God bless You.
