If you live in the area and have a Super Tenere please share your ownership experience. I drank the Kool Aid and two riding mates (HBL & LumpyOne) convinced me it was the logical step up from the DR650. They were right!. Would love to see what others are doing with farkles and riding destinations! I have a new '12. Plates came today in the mail!

Fellow MN Tenere owner here. I have a 2013. No major issues per say. Had a debacle with the rear spokes (one came loose, spun around, and did damage to the wheel, swingarm, and exhaust.). They covered it under warranty. If I can say one thing, check the spokes regularly, above and beyond what the manual says. Apart from that, no issues.

Farkles so far: AltRider Skid Plate, AltRider Exhaust guard, AltRider crash bars, givi outback trekkers 37L, Yamaha tank bag, HID headlight upgrade, Yoshimura RS4 Exhaust.

Thanks for the spoke tip. I'll pass that on to my S10 mates. I installed the AltRider crash bars on Friday and have the Givi racks coming next week. We're headed to SD in mid September so looking forward to my first trip on the bike. Using the Wolfman Expedition bags for the rest of the season and will order the Givi Boxes over winter.

Returned from a 2500 mile trip to Black Hills. First tour on the Tenere and really impressed at power and comfort!

I occasionally see a Super Tenere parked at the St. Paul downtown airport. Does it belong to anybody in this thread?

Nice picture FirstPath! I'm in Minneapolis, just got my new 2014 this year, no farkles but OEM bags. I'm rather limited as a condo owner for being able to do my own work; though I have my own tools and plenty of experience. If anyone here knows of a good place to do an oil change, or can provide one and you'd want to do a 'Tech Day' meet-up -- I'm a lucky owner of one of Grog's Harmonizers and would gladly share use for a good spot do do some simple scheduled maintenance where I'm not in abrogation of my associations bylaws...

Hoak,
Not sure how many tech days are going to happen this year but next Spring for sure. HBL and LumpyOne are two guys I ride with who got me hooked on the Tenere. They both have 14's with farkles galore. We'll figure something out as I want to do a skid plater at some point. I'm set up for the Givi Explorer bags but waiting for the funds.

Let me know if you want to ride yet this fall. I'm usually off Fridays and getting away on for a while on a weekend is pretty doable except the 10th and 11th.

First path,
I love my 2015 ES, but I wouldn't get rid of your DR. Two completely different animals. The DR can do serious trails in the right hands. I use my ST as a Sport touring two up bike and the occasion gravel road hard packed trails like the Gandy dancer below.

I also own a WR250r (among others) for more aggressive dual sporting and off road single track riding.

Enjoy it.

DR is stored for winter and looking forward to riding it in the dirt next year. Having fun on the gravel with the S10 too!

Near the Gunflint trail. One of those S10 moments; cruising down the tarmac, look to the side, check the rear view's, get on the breaks, u-turn, and get lost down a tree canopy gravely road for a while.

Looks like we have a growing Tenere population in the TC's. Maybe a tech day is in the cards when the white stuff disappears. Change engine/FD oil, kick the tires, harmonize, then a famous FP led ride on his secret twisty gravel roads

Why wait till after the snow melts? It didn't snow just yet. Sundays looks like a good day for a ride. :)
