I'm rolling on the Michilen Anakee Wilds. But you would have to arrange a tire swap for a long trip. How is the noise level on the Adventure tire?

I have been running Mich AAs on my S10 since mid-May while putting about 1100 miles on them riding mostly on the slab with limited off road use (hard pack dirt roads with a bit of gravel/rocks here and there). I really like these tires and I have now grown accustomed to the howl they generate at speed whenever I lean the bike a bit. Tire wear seems to be quite good although I am still trying to find the sweet spot for the optimum PSIs to run front & back.
I highly recommend the Anakee Adventure for the S10 or any other large ADV scoot.

Just finished my first Anakee Adventure rear tire at a little over 9600 mi. Maybe could have gotten a little more. That's not as good as several sets of Anakee III's that lasted 11-12.5 K mi on the ST, but not bad. The front tire is still going at 10K mi and might last another several K. Earlier I thought the rear tire would hardly make it past 7500 mi, but the wear seemed to slow down in the last 2-3 mm of tread. Unlike with previous tires, I kept the pressures at the recommended 33/36 psi front/rear. The profile stayed reasonably round with just a little cupping as shown in the attached photo. I generally liked the way the tire performed and did not find it noisy (but then my hearing is somewhat less than perfect these days). The replacement is another Anakee Adventure.

How are these tires doing on hard pack and rocky 4wd roads?

So tested hard terrain very good performance , sand I didn’t feel any different same as any dual sport tire you have to work with steering and balance if ya slower then 50 km /h go faster no problem she stays calm and predictable.

I have been running a set of Anakee Adventure for the last 4.000 km.
Very pleased so far.

Traction is excellent on tarmac in both dry and wet conditions.
There is some noise from the front when leaned over, but it's nothing like the noise from a Anakee 3 front tire

On dirt and gravel they perform as good/bad as the other similar tires I've used on my T12 (Continental TKC 70, Pirelli Scorpion Trail II and Anakee 3). I know that the mentioned tires are rated from 70/30 to 90/10 by the manufacturers, but in my experience these numbers is often just a marketing gimmick used to convince the costumers to buy their version of an adventure styled road tire.

I find the Adventure to be a waste improvement handling wise compared to the Anakee 3 they replaced.

Thinking about going with these, torn between the shinko 805(currently what I have) and this tire, any suggestions to make my decision easier?
Thanks

I also have the Shinko 804/805's and if you are going to be seriously off road I would stick with the knobbie Shinkos, light fire roads I would look at these. Hard to beat the price of the 805's though.

If anyone goes seriously off road on this big pig please post vids. :p
I don't have vids but I do have a few pictures. All these sections were challenging on this beast. I do not recommend this kind of riding at all on a Super Tenere. I was lucky to have Anakee Wilds. Otherwise I would have turned around. I want to be very clear these are not "chest pounder look at me" pictures. It was actually frightening riding solo so many miles (over 88) from the nearest town with nothing but my SPOT.

IMHO anyone who seeks out this kind of riding on a 700lb bike is not right in the head. And doing it with smooth tires can only end up bad.....

It's funny how the stuff that would be dead easy on a light dirt bike can be a butt-clenching affair on a big pig. Been there, done that. Now I enjoy easy dirt roads when the opp arises, but don't seek out anything rougher.
