Going to have a look round the Metal Mule factory in Dorset next week. I like the look of their cases and racks. Anyone here use them?

I have a friend who I see occasionally ,he has metal mule panniers on his triumph. I can never remember his last name so he is known to me as "metal mule mike ". I looked at them for a while before deciding on touratech, as the mm are more expensive , at least they were 5 years ago. they are of a high quality , probably the best out there in my opinion. you will stand out if you get them for sure.

That’s encouraging! I’ll see if I can get some photos at the factory and post them up here if I get the chance. They seemed to welcome me visiting.

Had a look around the Metal Mule factory today. It’s also where they produce Renntec stuff. Got shown around their top case and pannier systems by Geoff the guy that designs them and assembles them. I wanted to know what makes them worth the high price they charge for them. The cases speak for themselves. These are very very high quality cases and this was born out by the fact that a customer had just brought his 15 year old cases back to be refurbished!! I ended up buying their rack today and I will definitely go back for the top case too. I asked about crash bars and skid pans for the S10. They do bars for the 2019 model but not for my 2017 model but we agreed that I would take my bike down and leave it with Geoff for a week and he would produce a production jig for my bike for both bars and skid pan and supply me with a set of each free of charge!!
We spoke about the dangers of bolting the skid pan to the sump and Geoff said he would provide fixings that attached to the frame or the engine bars. Just got to arrange a week in the new year when I don’t need my bike....
