hooves is the proper spelling , could be worse. so today I meet my family at my mothers to do a late Christmas gathering . a great time and at 83 my mom is still going strong ..... so on the way home I stop to buy a steak for supper ,and as I leave the store a homeless woman ask me for change ... I told her I didnt have any ,then walked to my truck . and I felt the need ( God pressing on my heart ) to do something for this woman . so fire up the truck and go look for her. she is digging in the trash can looking for discarded food I wouldn't let my dog eat. I ask her if she is hungry and she obviously is . so she orders a subway footlong and chips and a drink . she want be hungry tonight. after all the blessings I have had , how could I ignore her need . you can't do everything but we can do something . happy new year all.

I ran up on a bull hole and skimmed it like you did. My friend on his little Honda 125 was behind me and disappeared. I went back and his bike was on his Evel Kneivel helmet in the hole. I have another friend in a wheelchair from a butt slapper

the unexpected the surprise just waiting to bite you , it is out there . believe me at 61 years of age lots of bad things can happen in a crash that could through you over the bars . my instincts was good the bike was better my guardian angel was busy.

I did a endo buttslaper at 35mph in the woods on a 3' tall water bar. One wheel left knobby marks down my back and shredded my jersey. Invested in a chest protector after that. Didn't think I was gonna ever get back out of the woods. A CR500 can get you in a bind quick. Especially after a couple of Buds

Saturday and today, Sunday , have been beautiful weather wise .....always after the storm . not to muddy so probably could have ridden . but honey do list got trimmed back some , and I just needed the rest as my work week was long. except for the titans the games have been mostly predictable . and its back to work tomorrow , but I will be on the new Tenere . this morning I went to the state jail to do a visit , it was 30 degrees and the bike was covered in frost . man heated grips are awesome. put 60 miles on the new bike .... so not a wasted day after all.

looking at the honda and realizing it needs an oil change , since I ride about 3 hours on any ride day I change engine oil at every 25 miles , and transmission oil at 100 miles intervals , its time. the book says I can do a lot longer intervals as I am not racing it , but oil is cheap and it only takes a few minutes .

we have Texas weather going on here, its as fickle as a woman , can't make up its mind . foggy and warm , rainy and cold , foggy and rainy and cold and warm In the same day , a front is going to push through tonight they say, and the highs for the weekend will be 50. so carrot and myself have discussed camping and riding the dirt bikes on a night trail ride.... bikes have headlights, mights well try them out . we may give it a go in a couple of weeks ,and I will post pictures ..... anyone out there do any night trail riding I would like to hear about it..... and pictures if you have them.

so it rained here for 16 hours yesterday . that slow steady soaking rain the farmers love . but it means I sit on the couch today as it is to wet to work . to wet to mow the grass (its January , I'm the only guy in the neighborhood who hasn't mowed his grass , may post a picture later for all you snow bound friends ) to wet to ride dirt bike , wife has a list I'm sure . the good news is that by Saturday most of the riding areas should be perfect for riding ,with a few mud puddles here and there .
