guess what happened yesterday evening? well it rained ,not at my house but about 60 percent of the area got good rain ..... I have been working on a job in San Antonio tx ,and I believe (willl know very soon this morning ) that job site got pounded with rain . so rained out I'm thinking . we have been cooked with 100 degree days . have seen 106 and 109 days . been in a drought most of the spring and summer . but even worse San Antonio and south . so im thinking based on the slow moving T-storm , they got some relief.

Y'all have had a lot more rain than up here. At this point, I'd rather not get any rain. We'll get the typical 30 minutes of rain, .15", that does nothing but shoot the humidity sky high. It'd be better to get none 'till October when it will rain for a day or two.

im planning my trip to Mississippi in October , probably first weekend . I'm thinking 7 days and no camping . I will sleep in air-conditioned comfort each night . this is a solo trip .
we have a community event each year to raise funds for the cemetery in our old home town , moved the event to October as it is less rainy at least down here. used to have it in June and numerous times it rained out . not once in the last ten years since the move to an October date.
im shopping for a new jacket , my Darian is 8 plus years old though still quite functional it needs some TLC repairs . so I may send it back to aerostitch for said repairs , or buy a new stitch maybe the road crafter jacket for a different look , or buy a Klim jacket . any one have an opinion on these jackets or one I don't know about , speak up. I may buy the Klim today as I like the looks of it . so im a little late to ask for opinions. about the same price as a Darian , 200.00 cheaper than a road crafter ....

no one will ask me if im a fireman in this jacket. so my thinking as the coffee works its magic . I will buy this jacket and send my Darian back to stitch for the TLC repairs then I will have 2 jackets .
the hem line looks shorter than on the stitch may have to go to a shoulder holster for my 1911....

I bought the Klim, sorry aero stitch, hopefully it will be as good as my darian. I’m going to send my darian to aero stitch for some minor repairs then I will have a proven 2nd jacket if needed.

What model Klim did you get? I'm still wearing my first gen Badlands Pro. Four bikes later and tons of miles, still going strong!

I picked up the badlands and was amazed at how heavy it was . luckily the Carlsbad fit me just a tad better .... going to ride my neighbors DR650 this morning , be the first test of the new jacket . its 530 am and 80 degrees will be in the 90s by 11 am and 100 plus by the afternoon.
so my wife noticed and liked how everything is matching , gray hair ,gray helmet and now matching gray jacket.

i rode the DR650 2 miles (neighbor has a honda crf300l and the DR650 ) he picked up a nail at mile 1 . back to the house we go . he starts to drag out his adventure bike (ktm890) and expected me to continue the ride on the DR. so I decided not to continue the ride . will try again next week . he forgets I think I owned a DR for 3 years , so it's not like its something new for me to ride . so the new jacket has 2 miles on it , so far so good.

so today I rode my Tenere to work . 80 degrees going 102 coming home .... the new jacket is comfortable , and I don't look like a fireman . it was only a 20 minute ride in the heat and the jacket was nice . hope to do a longer ride soon to see how it performs .

Although I have an R3 and a Darien, my "go to" for the past several years has been the Carlsbad. I just picked up the newest version (in gray, like yours)...it's a vast improvement over the previous generation. The biggest upgrades being the way they changed the venting on the sleeves and the little hooks that allow you to peel the collars back to get some wind. Wish Aerostich made something similar.....

still a big fan of aerostitch , their stuff is simple and simply works . I can not remember exactly how long I have had my Darian but over 9 years old . I was leaning toward a another stitch the r3 jacket of the 2 piece suit. but at 900.00 I decided to have a look at Klim. I'm going to ship my Darian back to stitch at some point for a few minor repairs (some of the tape is coming loose in a couple of areas. ) and it should serve as a reserve or if I hate the Carlsbad I still have a jacket to wear. but so far so good.

aerostitch has a new ADV jacket design ready to go , but for some reason they have not pulled the trigger on it. maybe its time they did . it is a good thing to be careful with your products , kinda like Henry ford and the model T. their suits are classic and the work but people get bored with same old thing .... even the colors offered by aerostitch are reduced to a hand full . I wanted RED , cant get that . so I need to find a rain storm to see how the new jacket works , in that the Darian never let me down .

Got out piddling around and stumbled across the very first battle of the civil war on KY soil. Been by here my whole life and never knew it was here. Of course it wasnt really dirt biking going in because it was all nice gravel but on the way out i went the less traveled path and frequently bottomed the bush pigs suspenders. That really isnt hard to do though! Pics on the way i hope
