having wanted a dirt bike most of my life and now that the tenere is paid for , i'm shopping..... 2 stroke or 4 stroke that is the question ….. i'm not an expert dirt rider by any means but I want to learn to ride better , figure dirt is a good school . i'm really excited about KTM 300 xcw tpi , or 500 exc , or honda crf 450x and just maybe the new crf450l ….. wife has given her blessing . I have been practicing on my neighbors wr 450 , hasn't chunked into the trees yet but its still early. would like to know your thoughts and experiences , just so ya'll know I don't buy used , I will tear up my own machine and hopefully not me with it.... finding some great prices on the honda " X " , thinking it will be my choice based on price and what I can do to it to make it mine. thanks guys , looking forward to your ideas and comments.

What ever you do run away from KTM , buy 4 stroke, no less then 450 cc .

So I take Michelle over to watch a Trials event and she picks this up today. It really is her's.

Near Lockhart TX. Is a track called Spoaks. I met these men today at the track. All over 65 and racing in the 95 degree heat.

first guy in photo is Mike , then we have Craig and last but not least is Dwayne.... all super nice … but it was very hot , 97 when I left . so this was a torcs race, Texas off road championship series . half motorcross half single track . very interesting .

so my neighbor who has been running his mouth about riding dirt and getting in dirt bike shape wanted to go riding today. I have a sore knee (have not told him this ) but had other plans for sunday… so he calls last night and I said your always wanting to go ride the track , why not enter the TORCS race tomorrow and I will go with you as your helper... his answer was he didn't think there was a class for him today , but there is . so he has manned up and is going to enter the race . I am going to take a few photos . it will be 100 degrees today . should be fun.

so my neighbor paid his money and did his race.... he finished …. about 95 degrees and he has never raced trails before , but he finished … 7th out of 18 riders in his class (d).... he bought my lunch , and I finished it....

His name is Richard, and a pretty good neighbor and friend. Been riding dirt bikes most of his life and mostly motorcross. First race of any kind in 20 years and first trail race.

Back atcha sir. I'm spending mine taking a ride to a small town near here for an all day porch music fest today, RO'ing a CMP match at my local club tomorrow.

so far I put a new tire on my tractor , washed the cob webs off the tenere , and trying to have enough energy to do a few honey do's..... so why is fathers day a holiday were the honoree has to mow the grass wash the cars pick up his under wear and take the family out to eat?

so it is texas and it is hot.... so I have been very busy and have not had the X out in a while ….. seems for the last month or so I have had very little energy ( normal is fairly active all day long ) . sunday had a dental issue and after going to the dentist find I have a broken tooth and an infection that probably been going for awhile.... after starting a antibiotics it seems my normal energy levels have returned ( all I can think is the infection has been dragging my system down ) I have not felt any pain but will have an extraction today so that will change. your mouth health can and will effect your general health , so go to the dentist . I have not been good about this , heart issues happen because of these things at times . it is not something to ignore …. lesson learned.

so I survived the oral surgery , no heavy lifting for a few days . and not really any pain ….

thanks , it is what it is ..... was planning to ride today but they advise against strenuous activity for a few days …. still on soft foods like milk , going to make me some scrambled eggs In a bit.... so since I can not ride the dirt bike im going to pick up some knee braces if the dealer has my size . and my pain level is 0.... they gave me scripts for opioids and ibuprofen, taken 3 ibuprofen , think im done with the drugs....

pain level still 0 and no meds , also picked up leatt c-frame braces at the ktm dealer and 100.00 off …. now to get the straps adjusted .
