I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
I had the Shark (the one LS2 copied) I liked the helmet for 3 weeks. Then it broke. it would no longer allow the chin bar to move forward with one hand. Had to pull over and MUSCLE it out of the open position.

Sent it back. Took them over a month to send me a new one. Liked it again this time for almost 2 months. Then it started the same thing. Sent it back and got a refund. I will say I ride several hours a day, I am not the once a week on good weather Sundays rider that people typically are. So if something is going to fail, it will happen to me in a short time.

I think it is an interesting design, but make sure you buy from a trusted source where you can expect help with returns. I would not buy from ebay where there will be no help with returns. Most helmet makers will not deal with the public, and will tell you to take it where you bought it to start a warranty claim.

For what its worth I bought a HJC IS MAX2 and like it quite a bit. Only thing I don't care for is the sun shield is the 3 position click type, not the type that lets you put it anywhere you want it. I had to grind a bit off the shield to make it fit me.

Same here. I have a Shark Evoline and the functionality of the flip up chinbar is unsurpassed in my mind. Never and trouble either. But it gives me a hotspot even though I already cut out some of the EPS (yes, I know, a big No No). It neither light nor quiet but I always ride with earplugs anyway.

I have seen this particular LS2 helmet in person brand new at a motorcycle dealership and at a bike get together/ride where a fellow on a Tiger Explorer had one and he allowed me to check it out in detail and I must say I was not impressed at all with the overall quality of the helmet, it’s moving parts (visor, sunshade, chin bar) and the overall functionality.

I've been looking at this helmet too. I've worn out 2 FF386 LS2 modular helmets and for me they fit my oval head well and the quality has been fine, especially for the price point. I probably put over 100k on each of them. I have liked the ease of use on the drop down sun visor and the modular chin bar. The lack of a first notch for the main visor to clear fogging is sometimes annoying, but with the PinLock insert it's a non-issue. At the price of an LS2, you can afford to just buy a second screen and leave the PinLock insert in that, and swap visors when you ride in the wet/cold. That's worked well for me.

The above review does mention that it's a wide helmet due to the design of the chin bar. Weight is good though. I am having a hard time justifying a $600-700+ helmet on my retirement income. But that isn't the main factor in my choice. If I could test fit a Schuberth C4 Pro Carbon w/o ordering one from Germany, I'd seriously consider that too.

While I am not quite the biggest fan of Revzilla aren’t Schuberth C4 Pros readily available from them?

Not in the Carbon version. Just checked again and you are correct, they now have the C4 Carbon listed. Thanks!

I really like the C4 Pro but the XL (my usual size for a lid) gave me three hotspots and the XXL was too loose.

I had the LS2 for a day, really wanted to like it but it just didn't fit me. Went from a Large to a XXL and still could not get the right fit. I did find it a bit heavy but I loved the concept and the workmanship seemed good. If they fit me I would buy another one.

The LS2 Valiant arrived last Thursday via Canada Post from FortNine in Quebec. Unfortunately it was much too small and was sent back the same day. I did carefully measure the circumference of my cranium at 61 cm and ordered the extra large as suggested. Not only was the helmet excessively tight everywhere but the chin bar was touching my chin in the down position.
However, I have not given up yet. A 2XL should be here on Wednesday and I'll report back.
Yours,
Rick

Received the LS2 Valiant in 2XL and the fit is almost perfect. The only issue I have is the proximity of the chin bar to my chin. With my jaw in its normal position there is enough clearance but if I thrust my jaw even slightly forward it touches the inside of the bar. I will have to avoid impacting anything chin first, LOL. Fit and finish are excellent and I was very pleasantly surprised to find the white version is in fact pearl with gorgeous light reflection. Another plus is the ease with which I can put on my glasses. The arms slide right in to position without fiddling and wiggling. Would purchase again!
Yours,
Rick

I've been using my LS2 - Valiant (GunMetal) for the past several months now and I LIKE it a lot. Bit on the heavy side, but can't beat the air-flow riding in a humid, hot summer days. It has become my 'daily / commuter' helmet & I save my Arai XD-4 for touring.

I'm still looking for a replacement for my LS2 FF386. The LS2 Valiant fit me fine in my usual Large size, but yes, the chin bar was very close. And while the Sena 20S Evo will mount up, it has to fit farther back and use the detached mic boom.

I also tried a HJC modular and it was lighter, fit well, more chin room, but also is reviewed as a loud helmet and that can cause comm issues. I still really want to try the Schuberth C4 Pro to see if it fits my head shape well. But dayam, those are expensive too. The Shoei Neotech is a no go for the shape. :( And that's not cheap either. The older Multitech fit me well.

The Klim is nice, but i'm not sold on the lack of a drop down sun visor since i raise the chin bar to drink water while moving or eat on occasion.

I have another line on a modular with a smooth drop down visor, but no pin lock holes on the sheild. Reasonable price, but no way to test fit.
