Just wondering, anyone who has a lower seat on their Tenere. I'd like some opinions about the lower seat. How much does it lower the seat by?
Thanks

Typically you will get an inch at best from a lowered seat unless you go to a custom one or local upholstery shop.

Taller boots? More riding helps a lot.

Agree, a good boot with a thick sole. And thats what I have. More riding, well that is my plan. I'm patiently waiting for spring to arrive and take delivery of my new new
steed. I put 30,000 KM on my AfricavTwin over the past two riding seasons along with 4,700 KM on my CB650F. I should think if I can manhandle an AT I should be able to ride the Ten without difficulty.

Thanks again

My brother is 6'3" and the used tenere he just picked up has a lowered seat concepts (which I'm not sure they make anymore). If anyone is interested is a straight trade for a regular seat concepts in decent condition....lmk/PM me. Poor guy needs a taller seat for sure.

All I will have is the stock Yammy seat. What year is your brother's S-Ten? I'm not 100% sure if all previous S-Ten seats are compatible with my 2018 Ten. What condition is your bro's seat? Asking price? Where do U live?
Thanks....SHUMBA

They are all compatible. His is a 2012 but the seat appears to be newer. It's cool. You're in canada so shipping might kill this deal anyway. Good luck with the hunt! :)

The stock seat has a high and low position. Low drops it 1/2” or so.

Acording to my Yamaha dealer th seat is 3,5 cm lower.
That's about right when the stock set is set in the lower position.
Now, put on a lower seat in the lower position and it lowers the seat height somewhat lower. A great option for riders with shorter inseams. I'm hoping that I can manage the bike safely with the stock seat in the lower position.

I just removed all the rubber bumpers and taped a filler to the rear tongue for a snug fit. The seat key still locks if a bit loose at the front of the seat but when you sit on it no problems. I also removed the seat ”tray” as an experiment and this worked too, but it did scrape the paint of the top of the bikes frame where the seat rested on. I suppose if you put some heavy tape on the frame this would protect the paint.
