Ok, the only trait I could find associated with that description was stubborn. I'm thinking that I'm missing something. After all, I'm just a Yank.:D

Welcome.

I've owned a LC GS and honestly, it's a better machine than the S10. But.. the S10 is 90% as good and infinitely more reliable, especially as the years and miles pile up. Like you, I wanted a drama- free ownership experience and so the S10 is a keeper.
I would agree... I'm just done with BMW arrogance and extraordinarily high service prices. I am not a Canbus fan either (I know... it has it's advantages) but I like good old fashioned wiring that I can troubleshoot if necessary. Looking forward to pulling the trigger in the next week!

Thanks to all for all the "welcomes" and info so far! Sold the Beemer and found a 2018 with only 11k miles that I am flying down to do a fly and ride back on Saturday! Looking forward to making it my own and continuing to learn about the (as all the cool kids say)... S10's!

Congratulations.
We’ve had a few discussions on here about the ‘proper’ nickname for our trusty XT1200Z, and although S10 is commonly used it also refers to a less than stellar pickup truck from days gone by. ST is also used, but could be mistaken for a Honda. So.... since Yamaha now uses T12 and T7 to identify their adventure bikes I think T12 is the most appropriate nic.
But, it is your new bike and you may call it whatever you like!
