I believe that I am keeping politics out of it. The hypocrisy that I spoke of is factual, at least around here. The only opinion(s) I voiced were about the numbers, and surges. I shit canned my true feelings about the political crap going on. As it should be; not the place for it. Definitely could not be a moderator; my Neanderthal gene is w-a-y too strong.

I still wonder about the numbers and what to believe. So Colorado and Utah for example, we are neighbors and have had basically the same number of cases at 75,000, yet Utah has had 400 deaths and Colorado has had 2000 deaths from it. So who's lying, Utah inflating the number of cases? or Colorado inflating the number of deaths? or both inflating all of it?
My stepdaughter down in MO a couple weeks back felt sick, her brothed in law and daughter felt sick too. All three life together. They all went in for a test. The test came back, and they were told "we don't know what you have, so we'll just mark it down as covid" Stay home 2 weeks, drink plenty of fluids. They don't have a clue what they had, whether they had it or not. Reminds me of motorcycle mechanics, or any other profession. Your test results are only reliable if those performing the test understand how the test should be done, and how to determine positive vs negative. Any inconclusive test is automatically entered as positive to inflate the numbers high as possible.

good morning C19 survivors , so far .
funeral yesterday morning , wedding yesterday evening ..... the wedding was fun ...... sitting outdoors for the ceremony most wore masks.... once inside that lasted about 30 seconds .... drinking and eating and yelling and laughing and then there was dancing ..... couples doing their best moves , probably been awhile since their last dance ..... two couples (married 55 plus years each ) were really having a great time . as I was watching the crowd celebrate the union of two cool kids the only mask I saw on a human was on the DJ.... never really understood why there was a policeman there (very pretty police woman , just a fun fact ) who was never masked .
we may all die next week but had a great time last night. cold beer Mexican food and our ladies to have and to hold ..... nice time ,now where did I put my mask?

The Washington Post today published a fascinating photo of a gathering earlier this week where there was no distancing (chairs next to each other), almost nobody had masks, and within days a number of those people tested positive. Those who were circled were largely confined to sitting in a small area on one side of the aisle. In a different color they placed circles on people who were also tested and had negative results. Those were on the other side of the aisle.

You've been great at biting your tongue and it's appreciated.

Too bad about not wanting to be a mod because we need another. If anybody's interested in the glamour and big bucks, let Venture, AvGeek, or I know.

[CONTENT DELETED by CW. Even though it was likely all in jest, it was a political troll.]
I can't agree to this but I am not the moderator. Without being political, I still believe strongly that innocent citizens and law enforcement are being treated unfairly by allowing rioters, hardened criminals, and unprotected masses to run the streets.

Also allowing large groups of citizens to gather with the media giving the thumbs up is no way to approach this pandemic.

It's all about common sense from humans (even in the private sector) who actually have the authority to stop this. Unfortunately it is not the case. Criminals and carriers of this virus are given the freedom to do what they please with no consequences to their behavior.

Sierra would be my 1st choice for an additional moderator here. Not because I agree with him on everything (I don't), or that he's perfectly apolitical (he isn't -- who is these days?), but he's a calm mind who expresses humility, is ever-present, and is always in an even, lighthearted mood.

It's a shame if he doesn't want it.

As told when getting a security clearance, nobody's perfect, we are just looking for honesty and discretion.

. . . . but he's a calm mind who expresses humility, is ever-present, and is always in an even, lighthearted mood. . . .
Calm: can be, but not prone to it. Been described as a little too passionate. Humility: Hmmmm.... just trying to be honest. Ever-present: Yup, love this place. Lighthearted: love to laugh, and be happy. . . . some people are just too stupid to let me be.

I would vote for him just because of the bqq he makes.
All you, or anybody here, has to do is show up. Just made a fresh batch of drumsticks, with a pot of beans/rice/Opa's. 82 degrees with 32% humidity. The smoker looked like Cheech & Chong's van, and the Corona was flowing.

I can’t be a moderator, I’m all about the debate , free speech is a good thing . Let freedom ring ........ I would have to moderate me . Now in a more serious tone a good moderator keeps things civil . That’s a good thing. We like Yamaha super teneres , that’s what brings us here . Sometimes we get “moderated” sometimes we don’t. It’s the exchange of ideas that’s good for all of us . It helps us grow. Hopefully.

And as of for the wedding, how do you suppress all that emotion and the celebration that’s part of it . Mask suck . As for the funeral hard to wear a mask with all the tears and runny noses . Most tried . And most did. 50 or 60 at the wedding, 200 plus at funeral.

COVID protection at the funeral really was odd. What put me on high alert was right after the viewing we went to a restaurant. Very odd inside distancing and wearing masks in between bites of food.
