Had another local death here today. Young man was 35 years old, good health and ran 5 miles a day. It's not an old person virus, it will kill anyone. Stay safe and don't be a statistic.
This is sad. I hate this crap!! I have to go shopping tomorrow. I have it down to once a week. I'll be wearing my 3M N95 mask and latex gloves. I'm so very grateful I have 8 of these masks leftover from a paint job a few years back. The gloves are from my normal garage supply. Proper masks and gloves are almost impossible to find right now.

It's not the best solution but it's better than nothing. When I get home I hang the mask for 4 days in the garage to kill any possible virus so I can reuse it. All my clothes are immediately washed in hot water and a hot shower at least twice a day. I have wipes, bleach and alcohol to wipe everything down I touch. The food gets washed and packages all wiped down.

My mother in law is 82 and my wife has only one kidney. I'm not taking any unnecessary risks.

Especially for health workers as regular joes waste them by wearing them grocery shopping.

This from the FDA:
"N95 Respirators Not for Use by the Public

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not recommend that the general public wear N95 respirators to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including coronavirus (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions, such as hand washing, to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases.
For the general American public, there is no added health benefit to wear a respiratory protective device (such as an N95 respirator), and the immediate health risk from COVID-19 is considered low."

Stay safe and follow the advice of health authorities.
Please Sir, I asked you once not to bring politics into this. This is a serious situation. It's not like I'm stockpiling masks and gloves. What do you think the health care workers are using them for? It's to prevent getting the virus. I'm just making do with what I got. Making political jokes is not helping this at all.

I already lost a family member to this disease last week. I have a wife with one kidney and my Alzheimer mother in law is 82 years old. I'm doing what I think is best to prevent getting or spreading this virus. One thing that is 100% certainty. It will do no harm at all to wear a mask and gloves, wash and disinfect my hands/body, and wipe down every surface that is touched or breathed on by a human.

Again, we are trying to keep this thread on topic about the current corona virus pandemic and the effects on our members here. Sharing relevant information is acceptable, but some of the jabs at other members have been removed.
NICE!
I believe my post was probably removed while the Australian posts very unrelated "stuff". He's been allowed to make pokes so, I figured I'd poke back. Like one Admin said " I think we have thick enough skin to keep moving on". As an American, I live under the Constitution and Bill of Rights. So much for the 1st Amendment. Hey, it's your website but, shame on you. I'll be done on this thread.
God speed to those affected.

I am of the opinion that we have sold our independence. We no longer manufacture anything in this country. All manufacturing has shifted to China. This is a good wake up call.
And Russia and the Saudi's are killing your fracking industry. What is it $30 plus a barrel to get it out of the ground ?. And it costs the Saudis $10 ? . You guys have alot on your plate right now.

Well, I am fairly polignorant. I'm not blaming Red or Blue for our predicament. I don't believe they should be allowed to tell us where/when we can travel. I DO believe that we are our worst enemy when it comes to the current virus. I went for groceries on Saturday. Shelves were relatively well stocked, no eggs or TP, but most everything was there....including hamburger/steaks. But, what shouldn't have been there, but was, was entire families. o_O All over the store. . . . small groups of 4-7 people around one cart. Then there were the people that while you are staying apart from the person(s) in front of you, take the opportunity to get in front of you. WE THE PEOPLE.... should not be oppressed by our government, but WE THE PEOPLE.... should use the brains God gave us. Doing the same thing every day, and expecting different results. . . .

I just checked my temperature and was relieved!!

[Got complaints that this poo picture was a bit over the line so am just taking down the full color photo. For those who really gotta see a photo of shit on a thermometer, click on the minimized attachment. Trying to find a balance between humor and that one step too far. - CW]

Wish I could follow your advice. I work in a hospital. I try not to take my work home. Haha. It has new meaning now.
