Isn't the OEM Taillight already LED? I thought it was from looking at pics but I could be wrong. It looks very nice so I think rather than change out the existing one I would add redundancy and some Hyperlites.

Agree with Joe on this. A few extra Hyperlites are always good.

Since the R6 of 2005 this tail light is used and finally found its way to the XT12.

There were already several alternatives for the R6 that, i belive, would fit into the XT12, namely ones with turn lights built-in... O:)

I'll wait and see. The website for the LED's admits that the standard incandescent tail light is actually brighter than the LED version. Unless I am really dissappointed in the stock tail light, I don't think I'll be changing it. Just wanted to throw it out there for anyone who may be interested.

This assy has all three incorporated running, tail, and turn signals.

If you are looking for safety, this light will get a drivers attention. I had one on my Wing and had many good comments from other riders. There was never a question when my brakes came on.. lol

I am putting one on my S10(the one I took off the Wing).

I saw one of these hooked up to a brake light and WOW, no missing all the flashing. Important to note that they have several flash patterns programmable. The one I saw flashed 3 times and then remained lit. I always wanted to hook one up to the brake and headlight flashing switch.

I wonder if that Whelan light will fit as a replacement for the reflector above the license plate?

I have seen that done on a Wing.. Looks good. I will look at mine when the bike gets here and make up my mind. I want some adjustment in the light as the leds are very directional.

I did that with the ST.

You also see hyperlites in this pic and I also have a brake like blinker module that is not part of hyperlights or the whelen, they are both set to normal brake/on modes and the module goes in between and has many strobe and flash settings ending with steady on.

Medium Flash on Whelen LIN3 and outside hyperlites and rapid flash on inner hyperlites

Ugh.. I try to post some cool lights and just like on the ST sight everyone focuses on the RBAD (Remote Brake Activation Device).. BTW, I'm selling them if anyone is interested.

Since my right wrist is broken, do you offer them in a LH version?
;)

Those versions cost about twice as much do to the additional tooling required.

Good video Mellow I'm all about being seen by cagers. That rear reflector on the S10 looks like a great spot for a flashing led like Paul said.

i would really get pissed of filtering behind such a fireworksbike, whats the use of it?

Oh and i've been hit from behind twice, once standing behind a *car* so it has nothing to dowith visibility, but with distracting of the crashing in cager...

Seems to me this is exactly why you would want the extra visibility - to keep from being "lost" in the view of the back of the cage. Most cagerss focus on cars and nothing else.

if i hadn't stood there he would have hit the Cage directly...

They just don't *look* even if you would carry a Police bleulight, several policebikes are run down every year, and a former minitsress of transport here in the netherlands crashed into a fire enige with all bells and whistles on !

Its no use to blind the people who do look, its just annoying, i really hate all those people filtering with their hazards lights on, if you are that scared filtering, just don't do it ...

HA! :)) That's got to be embarrassing, and down right costly to crash into a fire truck that has all of the lights and sirens going.
