Looking for some advise about replacing my key on line. Live in a very rural area and none of the shops in my region can make a replacement key. Can I have one made on line somehow? If so...where?

Are you trying locksmith's or bike shops? Do you have a good key to copy or no?

Welcome fo the forum.

You need to help us out a bit more. Add your location to your profile. This is exactly the type of question where location makes a difference. If you're in the US, no chip key, so things are easier, but hardly anyone cuts keys online to code w/o a bunch of paperwork.

You can order normal key blanks online. LINK But you will have to get a local shop to cut it to match your other key(s). Any locksmith and most hardware stores should hopefully be able to do this for you, again, if you're in the US.

The original key has a little fob with a (4-digit numerical?) code on it. That code identifies the key such that a new one can be cut with just that number. It's a good idea to record that number.

I would guess that there's a dealer source online that could get a new one cut and mailed to you.
EDIT: Here, watch THIS

So no problem. Order up an Ilco X248 key blank or three from one of many online sources and have a local locksmith cut it from your existing key. If you don't have an existing key, then you may need to see if the dealer will give you the key code for your bike, or find it yourself with some sleuthing.

Or, if you know or can come up with the Key Code, you could try this guy: LINK He advertises that he can cut keys to key codes for Yamaha motorcycles.
