From looking on the Revzilla site, the Kaoko for Gen 1 is not the same part # as for later models. They look almost identical, but there is apparently something different in the fitment.

Kaoko seems to identify GEN1s as a Super Tenere XT1200Z and the GEN2s as a Super Tenere XT1200.
Options include no hand guards, OEM hand guards and aftermarket Bark Busters.
