Look, I know people get narky over questions asked for the millionth time, but I've searched and not found. That's another thing.

Short story, did a service and changed everything, checked air cleaner etc then decided to warm the bike up and circulate the oil in the final drive while the engine warmed up. Second gear.

Now engine light and ABS blaring away. I've gone through the workshop manual but nothing about clearing codes. Searched here and found exactly the same thing that was "merged" with another thread, but where is that?

You've discovered the hack for disabling ABS for off-road riding. Guys do this intentionally when leaving pavement.

ABS monitors wheel speed front and back. By spinning the back with the front stationary ABS gets confused and shuts itself off.

I think it re-sets when you key off.

Cheers. I'll give it a run in the morning when it isn't hammering rain. I knew they disabled ABS this way, but when key off and re-start the engine light and ABS both came on.

Aside from this, any quick directions on how to CLEAR or reset codes on a Gen 1? I know there's every bit of info known to man in this forum, but if you doubt I've tried, try the search yourself. I had to walk away...

In Gen 1, fault code can be erased using dash buttons. Search, “ acces diag mod”, “ del fault codes”....maybe in 1st gear without accel, can dissable abs, in 2nd too much spin and fault code on
