On my way home from work and hit a deer doing about 50 mph. Somehow stayed sunny side up but on getting home the deers nicked some of my front mudguard / fender. Everything else seems ok , any suggestions for a 2011 front fender supplier?? Uk or Europe currently thinking fowlers or cms ??
Also being lazy anyone know where I can find the paint code ?

Can’t help much on fender or color, but you mIght want to loosen the axle bolts and jounce the suspension a bit to re-align everything given the hit it took...

Glad you rode away unscathed. Did the deer fare as well?

Honestly don’t know. Happened so fast neither of us stopped. It’s through the forest and dark , it’s not uncommon locally , they tend to keep moving if at all possible.

Plenty of gyroscopic precession. I learned about it after the first time I went stupid fast on my FJ. I had expected twitchy steering but found it to be incredibly stable. Actually, hard to change lanes quickly.

I hit a small deer on my Africa Twin, also in Essex, but further north than Epping. Luckily I was going fast so it hit its head on my crash bar, boots and footrest I think. If I had been going more slowly it would have been under my front wheel. Deer was killed outright when I u-turned and went back to look. It was pitch black so I had to point my headlights at it then walk to it and check. Hair and blood all down my swing arm when I got into my lit garage.

I reported it to the old bill just in case, no one was sure if it was a legally reportable animal or not, I think it depends on if it is wild or owned. I think the Epping ones are owned, but allowed to roam. Mine was a Muntjac which are descendants of escaped pets from the Victorian era I think.

Glad you came out without harm. You join an ever growing list of Tenere riders who have hit deer while at speed. Like you, it appears most stay up. Tenere is a wonderfully stable bike.
Perhaps it's the bike or even the riders but speaking from two deer strikes it's has a lot more to do with luck. I've stayed up and gone down at speed on non S10 machines.

Checking the alignment is something I would do too. I’ve done it after my tipover this summer, she was a bit twisted. Quick and easy, and a good video on this forum too. Using the search box will work.

Glad you are oké!

I reference only the experience of members here. Of course the obvious flaw to my observations is the fact I've not had the opportunity to hear from those who had the ultimate bad outcome. So my unofficial tally is suspect at best.

Yes, wearing the right gear gives you the best chance to survive. I been lucky multiple times with deer. I believe they are the most dangerous thing i face while riding.
