On Saturday I picked up my 2023 Super Tenere.
I rode it around 250 miles on Sunday and I'm very happy with my purchase.
I traded my 2020 Moto Guzzi V85TT Adventure for it. The MG is low geared for extended interstate highway runs, but would do it without issue. Just felt like I was abusing it on long trips. I went to my preferred Yamaha dealer and asked if they could order a Super T and they laughed. Said Yamaha still won't allow orders. They get a list every month of the bikes available for delivery to choose from.
While there they gave me an extended ride on a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer.
I almost purchased the Tiger but the sales guy ghosted me for a few days which caused my initial lust to wane, so I decided to look for a Super T in stock. My biggest problem with the Tiger was the amount of electronics that could break. I owned a Triumph for about 10 years, so I'm not that worried with the engine. Also, the TFT screen is nice but I'm convinced who ever designed it doesn't ride a motorcycle. You have to go into the menu to see the trip and ODO. Not a huge deal but annoying for those of us who reset the trip counter at gas stops.
I searched around for a Super T and discovered that most dealers with them on their websites don't actually have them in stock. I did find one around 4 hours from my home. I worked the numbers on the phone and then headed out early Saturday to pick it up.
Let the farkling begin.
