On Saturday I picked up my 2023 Super Tenere.

I rode it around 250 miles on Sunday and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I traded my 2020 Moto Guzzi V85TT Adventure for it. The MG is low geared for extended interstate highway runs, but would do it without issue. Just felt like I was abusing it on long trips. I went to my preferred Yamaha dealer and asked if they could order a Super T and they laughed. Said Yamaha still won't allow orders. They get a list every month of the bikes available for delivery to choose from.

While there they gave me an extended ride on a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer.

I almost purchased the Tiger but the sales guy ghosted me for a few days which caused my initial lust to wane, so I decided to look for a Super T in stock. My biggest problem with the Tiger was the amount of electronics that could break. I owned a Triumph for about 10 years, so I'm not that worried with the engine. Also, the TFT screen is nice but I'm convinced who ever designed it doesn't ride a motorcycle. You have to go into the menu to see the trip and ODO. Not a huge deal but annoying for those of us who reset the trip counter at gas stops.

I searched around for a Super T and discovered that most dealers with them on their websites don't actually have them in stock. I did find one around 4 hours from my home. I worked the numbers on the phone and then headed out early Saturday to pick it up.

Let the farkling begin.

Welcome, from Texas. The Tenere is my favorite bike ever. We have a couple of former Tenere riders here that have jumped ship to the Tiger, and one or two that drank the orange Kool-Aid

A guy I occasionally ride with was all in on the orange bikes, but constantly complained about small issues with the bikes that would require a dealer visit. Nothing catastrophic just nagging issues. He sold them all and went all in on Ducati Desert X and sport bike. Time will tell if the maintenance is more manageable.

Welcome from Canada, I remember when my S10 looked like that LOL.
Not so much today, every scratch and bruise has a story and adventure, she will serve you well as mine does.
Part of the reason for buying the Super T was running in to two different riders at campground who both had 150K miles on their respective bikes with no issues other than wear items. I do a lot of long distance riding, so being 2000 miles from home I sometimes think about breakdowns and longevity of bikes.

I need to get some crash bars for mine. I say I won't take it off-road but the reality is I will at some point and it will go down.

There's a guy here, that the last time he posted mileage, with over 310,000mi. There's quite a few with well over 100K mi. She might not be the fastest or the "best", but you'll get your money's worth.

Congratulations on your new S10! That colorway is real sharp and the black forks are nice accents.

Congratulations on the new bike you will love it. I had the same problem locating a new Tenere, no one had one a didnt expect one this year...WTF. I called almost every Yamaha dealer in Calif. and they either didnt have one or if they were going to get one it had multiple offers on it. It got so bad I thought about getting a BMW GSA850 like my brother in law has but the electronics on them scared me away so then I thought maybe a Tenere 700?? Called the dealer about 4 hours from me that had a Tenere 700 in stock but he said sorry that two guys had just put deposits it and I would be number three. So Iam bummed out and whining that what I really wanted was a Super 10 but no one anywhere had one, there was a long pause on the phone and he tells me he had just gotten a Super 10 in the day before and there wasnt any one in line for it. I was down there the next day to make it mine, it is my second Tenere just a nice as the first one.IMG_0811.JPG
