It sound like reversed thrust from the rear wheel when its speed tries to overtake the output shaft speed. Try it again and apply a little rear brake.

Best not to do this with any shaft drive bike - it stresses the shaft UJ as the swing arm sits at an unnatural angle.

The super Ténéré has an uneven firing 270 degree crankshaft. At idle speeds the crank is speeding up and slowing down with each power pulse and intermittent gap. This accelerates and decelerates the entire drive line with the bike in gear. What you’re hearing is the collective lashes and clearances being rattled back and forth. Normal, not sure it’ll cause damage, but unpleasant enough sounding for me to avoid doing it.

This same question has come up on the FJR1300 forums... perfectly normal, just drive line slop/lash being exacerbated by the ST's lumpy idle (WJB's explanation above is perfect). A little rear brake drag should make the noise mostly go away as suggested by others.
