Very sorry to hear your new bike hasn’t arrived yet. Has the dealer been able to at least tell you where your bike is located right now ? Yes this COVID-19 thing has been causing some almost unbelievable problems. One of my brothers ordered a new Harley and they couldn’t tell him when the new one might arrive but it came in last week and he picked it up Friday.

Local Yamaha dealer has 4 bikes left in the showroom and Yamaha told them it will be after the first of the year before they get any more. There are three main players in the motorcycle parts business. Western Power Sports, Tucker & Parts Unlimited. They are running out of batteries, spark plugs, tires, and hundreds of other parts. The supply of Yuasa batteries and Michelin Commander 3 tires is very low. One of the best selling Dunlop tires is the 180/65x16 American Elite. Dunlop is 90K tires behind on production on that one single size tire. It's only going to get worse.

I'm interested in Honda's new CT125, they are all gone already till next year sometime, I think I saw a vin# 200 posted. It's getting scary out there. I'm in the auto repair field and parts are getting scarce, gotta source them from places I wouldn't normally use.

Talked to a friend this morning and he's got a bike on order at three different Yamaha dealers and none of them can give him any idea when or if it will come in. The parts guy at our local Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, Aprilla, etc. shop says there are a bunch of parts and tires that they just cannot get right now.

The Yuasa YTX20L-BS is one of the best selling batteries, The is what the WPS inventory has looked like for a couple of months. They keep moving the expected delivery date down the road. The same thing at Parts Unlimited.

I'm seeing the issue with tires. Shinko 705's are sold out at the usual places I shop, with no estimated arrival date. I'm glad I put a set of Mitas E07's on a little while ago; hopefully they'll outlast this supply problem. I'm really glad I bought my gaskets for the upcoming valve clearance check back in the winter, before this issue really ramped up. Now I don't feel dumb for buying a complete set of extra brake pads a while back, "just in case".

If only there was a way to craft a crude homemade tire from the pallets of toilet paper and hand sanitizer lurking in so many basements and closets......

Drove by a yard sale the other day, they had a pallet of tp out front. Brown paper wrapped single rolls.

I guess I'll use this as incentive to keep the S10 going. Just passed the 80,000 mile mark, and still runs like it was new. Knowing that I can't get a new bike because there aren't any available will help shut up the devil on my shoulder that tells lies like "hey, your bike has 80,000 miles on it, it's almost dead, better get another one!". Fortunately, there's a devil on my other shoulder in charge of my wallet, who helps keep the other guy under control with frequent doses of "STFU, this bike is going to infinity and beyond!".

Kinda glad right now that I buy boring reliable vehicles that last a long time. The Yamaha's a sapling compared to my 14 year old Camry.

I stopped by my local dealer here east of Seattle in Issaquah, dealer was expecting one to arrive but looks like some place in Medford received it. No other dealers in the area can get 'em at the moment.

I'm hoping to find one or an older model coming from a Kaw C14. Drive shaft and CC plus lighter weight are winning me over.
