Furloughed since 10/1/13. Got a half-paycheck on Tuesday and will get none on the next payday. Drove 1750 miles to reclaim a flooded house in Colorado without FEMA, insurance or SBA assistance. This'll cost most of the cash I had set aside 'in case of emergency' and has run some credit cards back up. Spent a couple of days talking to creditors and bankers about making 'adjustments' to help out the immediate cash flow issues and hoping I can still make a rather large payment for my granddaughter's college opportunity. Impact on us? Yes, .. it's quite uncomfortable right now and although I am hearing that it may end tonight or tomorrow it has been a pretty big stress all the way around. The Tenere may end up in the 'For Sale' section if this doesn't get settled in a week.

I neither know nor care about the politics at that level. I provide program management for a national training program for the F.A.A. and was furloughed with basically my whole division. I do know that the only real voice I have in this is through letters and calls to my representative(s) and my vote next time. I won't forget this little debacle though. Frustrating is a pretty weak term for us; we're both pretty fed up.

I guess these fools shot their wads tonight and shook with sticky hands after stroking each other.
I am ashamed at these clowns and how we are disrespected by them and how they show favoritism to ones who break the law just for votes.
Until Feb 7th We may still be working but something needs to change real soon or we are going down ..

I knew it was only a matter of time before the BS posts started trickling in... ::007::

Just so I understand, you're effectively telling the civilian employees of those agencies you hope they're without a job because they aren't important to "you". Only in a poorly written circular argument?

Shut down some things that will really make a difference! Oooooookkkk!

Nope....I think you need to re-read the original question again Mr Karson. I'm simply answering the question. Just because my views don't align with yours, doesn't make my beliefs..."BS" as you say. Your extrapolating my desire to do away with the IRS and other agencies, into my wanting people to be out of a paycheck is simply narrow minded arrogance on your part. You owe me an apology.
