Well the bearings arrived today and thankfully they were the correct ones, it’s all back together and I will be heading towards home tomorrow, it was 6 days in a motel waiting for a $35 set of 3 bearings.
everything is working fine, did an easy 600 miles miles today, spending the night in Sidney Montana . $57 for a nice room at Microtel through Priceline , I usually have pretty good luck using Priceline.
The trip was 7,300 miles, Nice to be home again, other than the 5 days in a motel waiting for replacement rear wheel bearings the trip went well for me. My next investment for the Tenere will likely be a Seat Concepts seat, hard to believe I’ve put up with the stock seat for nearly 50,000 miles
My Dakar’s now have 7,500 miles on them and to me they look like they should be good for at least 2,000 more miles which means they should have been capable of the entire Inuvik trip, I will update how long they actually last when they are worn out .
Been there, done that!
But I sold my Kawasaki Voyager complete with a Chicken, AK sticker on the trunk to a buddy last summer, and I told him he had one year to ride to Chicken or I'd remove the sticker! So he and I are planning to go this summer, maybe catch the D to D rally in Dawson then on to Alaska. I doubt (for sure) he will not want to tackle the Dempster with a 900 lb cruiser, I may ride the Tracer just to see how it manages a 15,000 km tour.
The first year the road to Tuktoyaktuk was open it seemed like everyone was talking about riding up there but you sure don’t hear much about it lately .
