I doubt that it'll impact on the Super Tenere production. However, the 660 Tenere will get caught by it. Notwithstanding that ... Yamaha will be screwed in the UK through 2011/12. Everyone I know that regularly buy bikes are easing back ... Triumph are gonna have a superb year though.

All the article really says is that Yamaha motorcycle sales doing poorly in the EU right now. we already knew that.

Maybe Yamaha should have released the Super Tenere in the states first off instead of giving the EU the first go.

They might also be looking at operations costs/union requirements and see this as a chance to create a better manufacturing business environment. Not sure that France is any better than Spain from a union standpoint but having had some personal experience with Montesa/Honda in Barcelona, Spain has a lot of "time off" and worker "needs"

I guess my initial thought around this was that if they're moving the assembly lines from one plant, wouldn't that overburden production in another facility (like where they're building our long awaited Tenere's). I'm hoping not, but I would think that most company's would be happier to see an over-productive facility than an under-productive one.
Anyway, no big deal, It was Saturday and I was scanning the news and came across the article.
