I have full coverage which includes everything including all my accessories. I take frequent pictures of my bike and have receipt's for everything. AAA is not cheap insurance but the claims process has always been very fair and the payout prompt.

Also do not forget uninsured motorist!! In my state insurance is required but the laws are very skewed. If you are a US citizen and have a job then you are going to jail if you get in a wreck without insurance. If you are an illegal alien or released criminal on probation/parol, then it's a simple promise to appear and a ticket. But regardless, no insurance company will pay out damage from fault of of another driver (without insurance) if you do not have uninsured motorist.
I found out the hard way when my daughters car was hit and run by a Dollar General semi that uninsured motorist (which comes into play with hit and run) only covers bodily injury. It does not cover your vehicle. You will still be out $ to fix your vehicle. It will be comp and collision for me from now on.

well Canada has universal health care. I noticed the things that can hurt you up there are much more expensive. Beer alcohol cigarettes.
Yes that's true, in the U.S. you pay for health care and we wait for healthcare, although we pay heavily in taxes for our healthcare...hope this makes sense.
Smokes are expensive and beer is expensive. I don't smoke but I sure love my beer.

I have always found Geico to be significantly more expensive than Progressive, to the tune of several $100 more for my car per 6 months for identical coverage. They must be paying that gecko a lot of money. My $2015 Goldwing with $300/$100 Liability and UI and Comprehensive ($1k deductible) is $464 per year. Thats a lot more than what you pay, I am in Vegas so that may be part of it. Ill do another quote with them when I can get the Tenere registered and see what it comes out at.
That is interesting as my experience with Progressive is the opposite. I was insured with them for about eight years and the automobile rate went up by 8 to 10% a year, nearly every year. It became ridiculous. I got a quote from Geico that was quite a bit less than Progressive and in the last six years it has gone up a total of about 8%. I live in a low population state and have no tickets or claims (just comp claims which don't count against you). For full coverage on two vehicles Geico is close to 30% less than Progressive.

The insurance companies have a whole slew of criteria that they use to calculate premiums. Most of which do not work in our favor. Type of car/truck, location of residence, number and age of primary driver(s), the local city/county's accident rate, etc, etc. I know that I've been with State Farm for so long, that I can't afford to go anywhere else.

15 minutes with Gieco and I saved 600 dollars a year , true story , sold old Tenere , bought new Tenere , and the insurance about doubled ... I pay less than 400 a year and have full coverages and the maximum amount of coverage allowed especially the medical part .... I did not have this level of coverage on the old Tenere and it cost more than what Gieco could do on the new Tenere . a friend just switched this week and is saving almost 1500 (cars ,travel trailer and bike ) over his old policy...... its like gear if you don't have it when you need it your just out of luck.

LOL, you're a gecko arent you !!!

Ill check into it, but I do the comparison with my auto policy every 6 months and so far Progressive is the cheapest. Nevada, where I live, just got shut down today, so I wont be riding anywhere for the next 30 days at least so I have time

Well my job is not essential (travel business) and I work from home. And I am originally from Germany and I can tell you this is absolutely nothing like that.
