IMS 8.0Gal Rally Tank

Hi Guys I just spoke to the owner of IMS Products. He knows that there is a real need for an 8.0 Gallon Rally tank for the S10. He said if he can get enough people to step up for one he would start producing them. Now he wanted me to tell you they would "OFF ROAD ONLY"! Just like all the exhaust that we install on our bikes. He is hoping to get 100-200 people that want to Order a tank. I don't know the price yet but as we get some interest i can get that info. The weight savings will be amazing! So if anyone is looking for a lighter dent proof tank for the S10 let me know and I will forward this to IMS! Thanks all and have a great ride. ::022::

Define "real need". If available in the $500-$800 price range and it didn't look like ass, people will buy them. I'm having an oem tank modified, but at a much higher price range. I have over 11 gallons now with an aux cell, but am moving to needing less fuel and more cargo.

This is one of those things that a vendor is not going to break even on in the short term. But they will sell. The majority of S10 riders just don't want/need more range. That doesn't negate that there is a real segment of riders that would buy a larger tank, especially if it was plug and play and looked decent with the lines of the bike.

I'm in for one. I don't need the range, but, I would like to reduce the number of times I visit a pump. Finish isn't a big deal for me since I'll just camo wrap it anyhow.

I wrote that guy an email several months ago indicating I think he could sell the tanks with no problem and there is a need. I didn't get a response.

Been a number of tries of this on this forum and ADV. I am pretty sure the ones that wanted a bigger tank, would still want one if they still own a S10. I know I would, if the price was not outrageous, and it blended in with the bike. It also has to be tough enough for being dropped a bunch of times (yeah, me in the dirt..). I would love to gain the comfortable 300 mile range with just the tank that I had on some of my other bikes.

I have spoke directly with the owner of IMS! He told me himself that he would like to build a big tank! 8.0 is the size he has been thinking! Any larger would be real hard sale. If you want an 8.0 gal let's tell them and we can see what they will make!
