Purchased a new to me 2012 ST with 2700 miles on the ODO. Has the Yamaha top box and side deflectors, MRA Vario windscreen, and the Y.E.S. warranty till 2016. Haven't picked it up yet so no photos. It's blue. Have a few items I will want to add as soon as my wife gets over the shock of me buying a motorcycle again.

Welcome Danno - good choice, send your wife to the forum and we will make her believe that too!

About your avatar - how much can a koala bear? (it's a rhetorical question ;)

Thank you all. I hope my wife will get over it. She isn't a fan of my hobbies and the resulting expenditures. How much can a Koala bear???? Hmm....... Avatar is just the generic MS but the hair color and ears are pretty darn close.

Are you saying she won't climb on the back and go for an adventure? :)

I do want to thank all of you that have provided great information thus allowing me to make an informed decision. I am 6' 6" tall and the ST gives me plenty of room to move aound. I was leaning towards the FJR until I rode one yesterday. To much weight on my hands and wrists and leg angle pretty severe.

Snake bitten I can guarantee she won't go for a ride. That would be validating my purchase. She is a wonderful wife but adventure.......nahhhhhh.

So your saying your wife is different than ours! My wife and I have been together 40 some years, I had a passion for motorcycles then and although life has a way of changing things, I still got her and I've still got motorcycles. It will be fine! I might add that our discussion as of late is about a 2013 KTM 500 exc. She'll get over it!

Yo Danno ... don't you be going behind your wife's back like that again. It ain't right and you know it. Not clever, not funny. ::005::

Well maybe just this once ... to get yourself outta the sh*t you could start by getting some panniers and tell her that the larger of the two is just for her .... it'll work. Well it might.

Picked up the bike today. Had a nice 97 mile ride home. Had a few problems shifting into 3rd and 5th. The throw to 3rd seems very long. Hopefully some lube will help along with some linkage adjustment. Worried a bit about this and glad I have warranty until March 2017. Love the motor. Great torque. Will have to do some ergonomic work to make the bike more comfortable. All in all very happy.
