Side by side, the Beemer makes the T12 look small too. Hard to believe that the T12 is SO much heavier....or so they say. o_O The Beemer does look the part for Judge Dredd from the front.

GSA is huge. I rented a 2016 GS 18 months ago. Didn't seem much different from the T12 in terms of size. But no doubt the GSA is a big'un.

I've never ridden a BMW but those cylinders look like they would roast you on a hot day.
I'm not a fan of Beemers, but I don't think I ever felt the heat from the head/pistons. The fairing did a good job to keep the heat away. The KZ 1000 was a different story though. Heat just came up, and around the tank. Don't miss that one either.

My buddy had a shiney new 79 KZ 1000 LTD. Finest bike I had ever seen. His dog ate the back off the seat about a week after he got it. He drove it like that till he sold it. He could pull some monster wheelies.

I go to two BMW rallies a year full of GS1200s. The motor makes them wide, no doubt. I usually take my WR250R to make the ADV rides easier. I just got the ST this summer, so I'll probably start taking it to the asphault friendly rally. I imagine I'll keep taking the WR to the dual sport rally.

Interesting comment about picking up the T700 being as hard as the BMW, because I found the same in comparing the KTM 690r and the T12 Super Tenere. The only times the smaller bikes were better to pick up were when a sloped situation had the top of the bike lower.

I have a 2016 water cooled GSA and yes, it gets super hot on the right side.

And I don't understand why everyone is comparing the GSA to the T7, why not start with the GS, we all know the GSA is a super tanker meant more for long trips.
