A few months ago I booked a weeks break in Gran Canaria, set off Saturday and all was well, the flight was going well too until 20 mins out from GC...the pilot said the airport was closed due to bad vis
We were diverted to Tenerife and ended up sat in the plane for 4 more hours and then sent to a hotel and a bite to eat at 23.30 and a few hours sleep.
Sunday was not much better,GC was still closed so the airline brought us all home. bl**dy sandstorm. I'd booked a CB500X for 3 days and then a 700 Tenere for 3 days and was really looking forward to riding these...now sat at home

Maybe someone or something just likes messing with my trips. Recent issues have been (all in Spain too) a broken ankle due to a deer, food poisoning due to deer, stuck ferry doors taking 6 hours to sort and two ferry breakdowns/delays and now this
but Spain in still my favorite country to ride in.

Glad you got home before they canceled outgoing flights in Tenerife. A lot of people are stuck there and other spots in airport terminals. It's a massive sandstorm when you can see it from space! Riding in 75 mph winds with blowing dust wouldn't have been any fun.

I hope you had travel insurance! From your recent travels, sounds like you could have used a break and some fun riding in the sun. Sorry it didn't work out as planned.

Poor guy doesn't need another "break", but he does need fun in the sun. Sounds like something that would happen to me.

Where are you going next?
I want to avoid it.

Seriously - Can certainly understand the disappointment.

Bimota, I'm in Pembrokeshire so not too far you, we'll have to meet for a chat sometime.

Yep, have travel ins so just starting the process...oh joy..

Quite a few of my recent trips have been solo, can't think why....must have scared everyone off. Not made any plans for the summer yet but the USA is a distant possibility but will keep everyone informed so everyone can take avoiding action.
