I bought and tried a Madstad bracket on mine and despite really wanting to like it, I just couldn't get on with it. With a normal sized screen and the bracket set high, it made any buffeting worse and blasted my chest and neck area with cold air from underneath. When I set it lower but with a taller screen fitted, the whole set up just flapped around like a pair of demented spaniels ears. I thought that the bracket was really well made but no matter how tightly I nipped up the adjusters (stock or modified), I could never get the screen to stay where I'd set it, as it would always be pushed back when I rode above 60mph.
I know that the Yamaha one is often rated as inferior to the aftermarket adjusters but after I blagged a ride on a 2015 SE that was fitted with a Givi D2119STG touring screen, I found it to be really stable, with no buffeting and once set to where I wanted it, no tweaking was needed.
I suppose I could always sell my beloved 2011 and buy a brand new 2016 SE in that gorgeous deep red colour but the subsequent divorce would only mean i'd have to sell it again, later down the line. :
