Nifty little application here that gives an idea of what the riding position is like for a given motorcycle.

http://pixplot.com/ergo/

One of the bikes in the list is the S10! Check it out.

For me at 5'9" the S10 will fit almost the same as my DL650. It did not account for my gut though!

Basically, you just try different bikes in the drop-down list to see how they compare with respect to knee bend, reach to the bars, uprightness, etc. for your height and how much arm bend you prefer. For example, if you switch back and forth between the the R1200GS and the S10, you can see that they're nearly identical with the GS slightly more relaxed with respect to bar reach - its bars must be slightly closer to the rider and/or slightly higher.

You can also see the effect of putting different handlebars on by putting in values for rise and pullback. Or of raising the seat. I'm considering putting helibars on my S1000RR and with the specs for the rise and pullback change, I can get an immediate visualization of how much different the riding position would be.

Basically, it's a way to visually compare different bike's riding position and how mods would affect same.

Got it, i didn't realize the comparison. When i looked at it I compared only the XT. No wonder there was to difference of movement. I did move it around as if i was shorter or taller, or maybe lost 60 pounds. HA!!

I am 5'9" 155 lbs so it should fit me well in the low seat position. With my low weight the stock suspension should not be that bad, I hope. ;D

You the same height as me and about 10lbs lighter, I found the standard set up to work fine on my test ride, I don't think your have any issues at all.

Goldwing published useful loads are a joke in the industry, one of the very lowest for a bike that is farkled to the gunwales, packed with the kitchen sink, and usually ridden two up by BIG people.

The S10 is about average, I think. About the same as the GS.

Even my VSTROM and my ST1300's only had a 400lb capacity. I break 3/4 of that with just me on the thing.

I am 125 kg and 1,8 metre tall ..................... No problem for the S10 to take me, on gravel roads, with the two side panniers packed with weekend stuff, my little 2-man tent and inflatable matress for a good night's sleep. The rear shock is set at halfway between soft and hard.
