I would start small from 3 and move upwards until I find a good balance between fun and fuel economy. I am only at 8. BMC high flow filter, Akra exhaust and NGK G-Power Platinum plugs.

Both my 12 and 17 are set at +45
NO decrease in fuel economy at all.
The 12 has been that way for years.

I know another old thread but still relevant I hope. 2018 raid edition, service manual to refer to and I cannot access diagnostic mode no matter what I do. Following the manual to the letter and nothing. Any advice appreciated

On 2014 and newer USA bikes the CO can only be accessed at a dealer. It is adjusted on a computer hocked up to the bike, not through the dash. I have mine set at +45 and it runs great! I have my 2012 set at +50 and can't get over how good it runs.

Hi again. Thanks for that but reading the threads I get the impression that UK bikes can be accessed. As it is I can't even get into diagnostic mode let alone co. As it's in the sm I assume I should be able to??

I think my bike get good fuel mileage, I can't see that there is any difference in mileage changing the CO.

aaaah wtf, why they do such things? We have to go to services for everything.
Thank you so much for answer, I suppose I should start looking for service.

I have a question I can’t find a definitive answer to By doing a search. I have a 2017 ES and wondering if anyone has found a diagnostic scanner other than Snap On or OEM that will work on the gen 2 bikes. I looked on line and found OBD2 connectors for the yamaha motorcycles but there is also a note that it will not work on the Super Tenere.

I found a couple scanners on line from China, I know, CHINA, but most of the ones you find for a reasonable cost for cars are made in China too and work fine, I have 3. The one I am looking at for the S10 is the OBDEMOTO 600. Is says it will scan and clear codes, adjust CO and Idle as well as other things. I talked to the manufacture and asked if it would work on the S10 and he assured me it would. I’m willing to buy it and wondering if anyone else has knowledge if it or has tried it. I have found others on other Yamaha forums that have found automotive scanners to scan Yamahas and clear codes but not for the S10. This unit is purchased for specific bikes, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc.and comes with the required connectors to hook to the bike, the cable that comes with the Yamaha specific scanner appeared to be a match to the diagnostic plug on my bike, and I am talking about the diagnostic connection behind the right side cover in the fuse box area, not the one under the seat for the ABS diagnostics even though they look to be the same type plug.

I would appreciate any feedback, tks. Jeff.

Hi, I was under the impression that it was not possible to make adjustments this way on Gen 2 bikes? Maybe it’s just UK and/or European bikes?

If it is possible, can someone let me know so that I can try?

I copied this from earlier in this post for a gen 2 (non US):

ignition off, press both TCS and RESET and keep holding them while turning the ignition on. After a few seconds the choise between
ECU or SCU (? Not paying attention to the second choice) shows up. release buttons and toggle your choice with TCS button.

Choose ECU and long press both TCS and RESET a few seconds and the display will show a smaller "diag". Another click on TCS will toggle to "co".

To enter CO, hold both TCS and RESET buttons for a few seconds and the CO 1 should show up (witch would be cylinder 1).
To enter long press both buttons and then chose value with TCS for up and RESET for down. when done a fast click on both buttons
will take you back to the CO 1..

Click TCS button to move on to CO 2 and repeat the above. When done turn off ignition.

I just tried +8 and didn't notice a difference. Then tried +45 and it appeared to be more snatchy buy hard to tell. Back to +16 and seems ok but probably not better than zero. Mind you, this is all subjective as I'm not measuring anything.

BTW, I've been told on another forum this does nothing above idle. Someone no doubt has already said that on this thread but I missed it.

Hello from E.U.
These information it's only for all models that yamaha has removed DIAG mode

Healtech
has plans to release a bluetooth OBD tool via Android for maintenance adjustments such as CO adjustments, TPS position adjustments, etc. It should have been released last year but for unknown reasons it plans to launch this advanced tool in 2022 for all Yamaha ECUs that do not have DIAG mode. I am also waiting, at the moment I use an ELM327 although it is only used to read data from the ECU and not to modify.
