Since this has come up frequently as of late, here is the 3 step process to embed a YouTube video into your post:

1) Go to YouTube and find the video you want to use.

2) Copy the URL from the address bar, NOT the YouTube sharing links

3) In your edit window here, paste the URL you copied in step 2, with no code tags. If the address starts with "https", you will need to change it to "http". Click "Post" when you're done, and when the page refreshes, your video should be embedded, like this:

Apache Trail Pt 1

I was working on an embedded video this morning, and have found that YouTube has changed their system, which no longer allows our forum to embed videos. I've made Venture aware of the issue, and we will update this once we have a working solution.

Thanks to a post by Dirt_Dad, I have tested how to embed YouTube videos again. The process is the same as above, except you will use the URL tag:

Code:
[url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv4C-mOakXE[/url]
In this case, I copy and pasted the full URL from the YouTube video, making sure the address started "http" and not "https".

Here is the video embedded:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv4C-mOakXE

It sometimes takes me multiple tries to get something to embed, or not embed and just give a link. I've wanted to do it both ways sometimes, and it can often be a bit annoying.

Sometimes youtube will have a link like ...youtu.be.com. I've never been able to get those to work. Can usually figure out something after 8 or 9 attempts.

The best way I have found is to copy the URL from the address bar, rather than trying to use one of the sharing links from the page.
