How to attached photos to conversations

Does anyone know how to attach photos to a private conversation with a forum member? I see the button to attach a photo, however, it’s looking for me to insert a HTTP address. I just want to attach some photos from Google Photos.

If using the "Attach files" I will usually download the photo to my "Downloads" folder on my computers' drive, then use that for the "Attach files" link. Once it is uploaded you can delete it off the computer "Downloads" folder.
