Going in the garage to give the S10 some lovn. Bike just hit 5k in 9 weeks and time to change oil and final drive. Going to get out the yamaha oils and put in what it will have for the rest of its life. Rotella T-6 full syn and Amzoil 75-90 full syn in the rear. I am thinking 100k should be no problem, more like 200k with no big issues. Bike has been out long enough so time to ask, anyone hit six numbers. (Other than Sanders) ::021::

Re: Anyone in the world hit 100k yet

If you convert bike miles into people miles, I'm way over 100,000. It's time for a major service, and a whole lot of new parts. R ::)

Rem, are you going the full synthetic route on your major service?

Not trying to answer for Rem, I went to full syn when I had the 600 mile service done at 745 miles. I had the dealer perform this service just so Yamaha could not say later problems were my fault. No dealer will ever touch my bike again unless it is a warr issue and I will need to watch them do the work. 4 1/2 qts of oil in a 3.59qt motor, bad idea. I am using Rotella T-6 full syn and Amsoil 75-90 full syn in the rear. If you research these you find no better oils at almost any price. If they are better it will not be by enough to cover 2 times the cost. Look at the pure one oil filter, another money saver, better than OEM half the cost.

No, they don't make original parts that old any more. I'll need synthetic if ..... Oh, you mean the bike? Oh yeah, I went synthetic on the first oil change. ::008:: R

Rotella seems to be the oil of choice. I'll have to see if it's available here.

15,886 today. Just got back from a 3600 mile ride on Monday. Problems? None. I wore out a rear K60 at 12k. Put the craptastic EXPs back on, (oh how they suck!), had the O-ring checked on the fuel pump recall, (mine was fine), and have done some farkling. Changed to Rotella T6 Synthetic at the 5k oil change along with Valvoline SynPower 75-90 in the diff. Hmm, which reminds me, I need to change the oil again before heading over to Beatty this weekend for White Stag.

19100km (12k US miles) on mine now. That was done in about 8 months of available driving season during the first year of ownership. No problems whatsoever, yet at-least. Replaced rear Battlewing at 16000km and still a few k to go on the front.

168 miles and all stock fluids still in the bike. I will switch to Rotella T6 at 600 and the amsoil stuff in the rear. No problems yet. ;D

now at 16XXXkm, everything runs smooth..

Used Belray gear oil changed every 5000km..

I have a problem with my bike.
The tank keeps needing to be refilled.

4600 problem free miles except for the above mentioned issues, lack of farkle money tree, 1 yr old at home who gets alot of my time, and wife whom needs tended to as well. Heck we haven't even mentioned the job thing which takes multiple hours away from me each day!!! Good think I can post often here from work between invoicing and phone calls!!!
