So after six years and holding down the TC button on the ST for 2 seconds every time before I rode off ::010:: ::010:: ::010::, I got it done right on my AT.
The AT has TC on the fly but no memory retention. The gizmo here in mentioned has! ::015::

if there's serious interest in something similar on the ST, I might convince my buddy to do a trial run for the Tenere's

This is really one of the very few frustrations for me on this bike. I don't get too jacked up about it because the TC on the Yamerhmmer is flawless. But the few times I have been off pavement, it can suck if you forget to dial it to "2". If it is slick conditions, it would be automatic to check or set it to "1", but nice weather gravel? I forget after a stop. Had a pucker moment in Arkansas last year. Didn't go down but would have been nice if it stayed where I put it.

Long winded version of I would love this for my Tenere'

It really pisses me off having to push the TC button every time I start the engine (I much prefer riding with TC off) but I am not sure I want to spend $150 to eliminate the 2 second TC button push!! For $50 or less, I would jump on it, but $150 is too expensive for my tastes!! ::025::

R&D is not cheap.
And all of us suffer from KLR syndrome.

Don't worry...Richard wouldn't bother to make one for the tenere unless they were on a pre-sold basis.
To date, he sold 10. At this point he's paid for his material and some of his time.

Tempting. But I've shamefully been riding around in cages since the hurricane. Not really sure why. I'm sure it'll pass.

So buying any bike right now would be strange. Although it would probably SAVE me $money.
(I'm currently throwing some stupid money at a truck)

I admit that AT is a beauty though.

I think you would love it. Halfway between the 950 SE and a tenere.
If it makes you feel any better, I've been driving my truck too! ::015::
there's a strange white substance, that is not willing to go away

So to be clear he's made 10 for the AFT or for the Tenere?

AT.
If there's serious interest, then he can look into getting one done for the ST.
But since I sold mine, we would need to find a local willing to loan his bike for the R&D, and go from there,

Start a list of interested people, once you reach your magic number throw out a price. $150 does seem like a lot of money, but on the trail it's really annoying to have to hit that damn button every time. If the price is right I'm in.

Uh....spending money to not push a button? ??? Doesn't it take longer to activate cruise control? I guess I'm weirder than I thought. ::001::

If you do any kind of off pavement riding you'll appreciate a gizmo like that. I've had to pull over numerous times just to hit THAT button because I forgot to do so. It's a real pain in the ass.

Circling back @greg the pole , Is this device still making you happy? What would it take to get him to look into one for the Super Tenere? If only YOU were still in the fold with your Tenere.

Could we perhaps get him to sign on as a vendor and get a thread launched to see how many we can get to commit? I would order one right now if available.
