A couple weeks ago I was riding in the Lake Berryessa area. Saw a group of riders and did not pay attention to their rides. Later I saw them passing Pope Valley Market - heading up to Angwin. They were a group of six riding Grom's and they were hauling booty. Looked like fun. Since then the Monkey and Super Cub were re-released. Gotta wonder what Honda has in store for the remainder of the 2019 models.

They race Groms and some of the older mini-bikes like the Monkey on one of the indoor go-kart tracks near here. Short tight course so they don't get much speed up and it looks fun as heck.

This is the area I know they rode https://goo.gl/maps/V5peKj1LVsA2 . Street View does justice but Seat View is a hoot. This area is full of beautiful tight twisty roads. This was the first time I had seen a Grom in this area but it makes sense. Wish I had better storage that would allow me to have many different types of motorcycles.

I’ve been thinking about these bikes. I love Hondas and I really love the vintage look. I’ve been thinking to fly to NYC next summer, buy a Super Cub and ride it home to CA. I think it would be an amazing journey taking the backroads of America from one end to the other. The hard part is convincing anyone else its a good idea.

oilfield_trash when we consider what others think no matter their concern , its an anchor in your life..... we all face what others think ( most are in their on way well meaning ) and my own life is no exception …. buying a supercub and riding it cross country is not a bad idea , its a bad idea to those who do not understand what or why you or anyone would consider such a thing. we have one life one chance to live it , tomorrow there are no guaranties . oilfield_trash there are worse ideas in life that people dream up ( Orville and Wilber spring to mind, what if they would have listened ) and then there are the dream killers we all face , they are afraid so they feel you should be afraid . that's there normal and it makes you me and every one else who listens to them normal.... ive had 60 years of normal , its been ok , if your satisfied with normal.

Well, if you look at his ride list, he definitely takes "the path less traveled". Follow your dream. But, I hope you're not a very large person, or in a hurry. ;)

The originals were great fun, if a tad limited & dangerous in traffic, so the super cub was the more effective tool.

The new retro monkey looks OK, but have you seen the price! I'll pass thanks.
