Just bought a new 2019 Super Tenere 1200. I pick it up Saturday. I only got a test ride around the neighborhood at the dealership so I don’t know what it-feels like on the highway. Been riding dirt and street for over 50 years now so I’m not a newbie. I have had Harley’s for the last 25 years and am ready for a change. Looked at a Vstrom and a 1290 KTM. After much research I decided the Yamaha was a good choice. Never been comfortable taking my road glide off the pavement. I’m ready for the Alpine Loop or some Texas back roads. Hope to see some of you out there.

Welcome from Texas. You're going to be pleasantly surprised how well she does everything you're going to ask of her. You must be talking about the twisted sisters down in Leakey?

Welcome from So Cal! Im sure youll love it.

I love mine and truth be told I wont sell my Harleys or sportbikes in the garage. But the S 10 is my choice on bad weather days commute and my favorite for interstate touring.

I love them so much, I have 2. I've been riding Enduro style for 50 years also. At our age, comfort is key and these have all day comfort. Takes on all kinds of surfaces with ease. Tip: Figure out how to level the seat, i.e., back end down and front up. That fwd lean it comes with was uncomfortable for me on long rides.

Welcome and congrats! I’m almost a month into my first S10 and I have to say it has reinvigorated my love for riding!

If you have not been on dirt in a while it might be a good idea to take an off road course. I know it helped me after being off a dirt bike for a number of decades.
Congrats, time to farkle!
