Hello from Kennett Square PA . I have a grey 13 non es. I'm almost 50 and I bought this bike strictly for the suspension and I'm very happy with the bike . I am a long time Honda man And I'm embarrassed to say that they don't have a bike in the Us that I would buy new today . I do have a cherry 07 Honda St 1300 that has 50,000 mi and a 09 FZ1 that's WAY too fast for me and I think I've spent more time modding that bike than riding her! I'm stripping the rims now and getting ready to powder coat them myself !!I was not in the market for a new bike but I could not pass up on the deals they were giving at Christmas on the S T . I only have 988 miles on the ST so far but every mile was ridden below freezing in some sort of snow, sleet, freezing rain. This bike handles great this is my first traction control bike and I really dig it . I just hope my TC skills won't diminish!!
So the bike was set up perfect for me I didn't have to touch or adjust anything . The suspension is my favorite SUPER PLUSH !!
Now there is a few things that baffle me #1 what is up with the friggin kickstand ?? will the bigger plate for the bottom make the kickstand easier to grab to put down.

Why is the rear wheel so hard to spin ? When I changed my motor and gear oil I noticed that the back wheel does not spin freely . The brakes don't sound like they are rubbing and the bike is really hard to push around the garage !! I've averaged 45mpg.
The motor is my least favorite thing and I've never had any of my bikes Re_flashed and from what I've read this will be the first . I would like to get at least a pipe but this bike has great engine braking and I don't wanna mess it up.
PEACE. Lonney

::004:: from Texas! Just recently sold my FZ1 (09) and they are fun bikes. Replaced it with a 2008 B King which will also keep my license and insurance rates in jeopardy... Enjoy your new ride!

Welcome to the board! Keep on reading and riding, the motor really needs several thousand miles to be properly run in and loosened up. There are plenty of threads in the modification section about the various pipe/header/reflash options.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, a good side stand plate will make the side stand easier to catch with your boot for putting it down. I have and like the AltRider version.

Not sure about your comment about it being hard to push around the garage. I'll assume you're in neutral. ;) Shafties can have a little more resistance, but not enough that I would think you'd notice in that regard. I don't, comparing my wife's GS to my S10. The wheel won't spin freely if you're up on the center stand and just give it a spin, too much drag in the diff oil/gears. But neither would a chain drive bike if the chain is on the sprockets.

Be aware that some of the flashes minimize engine braking, and some can be customized to your taste if you discuss it with the flasher, rather than just getting what ever flavor of the day is.

Hey Lonney,

When I saw the title of the thread, I knew it had to be Kennett Square. Lol. I often visit one of offices in Kennett on Exelon Way.

Welcome

Small world indeed. I am based north of Lancaster but work in New Holland. Hope to see you up at Ephrata first Sunday if we ever see Spring!

I am still wondering if I should do the ACV upgrade before spring.

Fortunately, I'm close enough that I only come down for Day Trips so I haven't had the pleasure of taking in the "fresh air" ??? here for any length of time. I hear from the locals the odor can be pretty bad though depending on where you live.

::004:: Lonney, from London, Ontario, Canada. I have a sidestand foot expander on my Super Ten, and it does make it easier to deploy the stand. I did not reflash my 2012, but I have an Akrapovic pipe and I had the updated 2014 clutch basket installed. I was amazed at how the new clutch smoothed out every rough edge the engine had. I hope you enjoy your Super Tenere as much as I have mine. BTW, I left 50 in my rear-view mirror twelve years ago, but I'm still ticiking!

Cheers,

Bruce
