...of Canada that is. I have always admired the Super Tenere and with my MG Stelvio acting up and no dealers within 800 kms, I decided to make the move and bought a 2018 Super Tenere. I've only got 600 kms on it and the riding season is pretty much over around here but I plan to buy a few accessories over the winter and get it set up to my liking. I'm thinking of a reflash, wind deflectors, crash bars and a skid plate. It's 95% an on road bike to me but there may be the odd gravel road on occasion. Looking forward to a long enjoyable relationship with my new ride.

Congrats on your new ride, Crash! Where in Canada are you?
I got my '18 Super Ten' in May this year and now have almost 19k km on her. We went to BC and back from Cape Breton in Sept. and she is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned.
We had snow here yesterday and I fear riding season is 'almost' over. Might get around the Cabot Trail one more time, HA!

Welcome to the fold.
Keep in mind that Canadian spec Super Teneres have a unique ECU, different part number than anywhere else in the world and I've not been able to find anyone able to flash it. If you do, post up your findings and results.
And speaking of MG..... My buddy just bought a new V7, didn't even get home from the dealer before it broke down! I rescued him and hauled him and his bike back to the dealer, they got it running and he did get home this time but it quit again the following day. This time it took the dealer 2 weeks of swapping parts to get it going and it seems to be running ok now.

Hi James (or is it Rick?). I'm in Moncton, NB, not too far from you. We've had the same snow and cold temps so, yes, it's over for this year. I'm glad you find the bike so comfortable; that's a big deal for me. It has all the power I need, too and can cruise at any sane highway speed. Maybe see you on the road someday!

Hi Crash from Ottawa, Ontario, nice to meet you. I picked up a mint previously owned 2017 ES in June and I absolutely love it. Unbelievably fun, comfortable, and versatile ride. This was a big step up from my KLR650. The only thing I miss now after the upgrade is the wrenching time as the Super Ten is extremely well equipped and super reliable You're going to love this ride. Look me up if you're ever in the nation's capital!

Hey Garry, that's interesting about the ECU flash. Odd that the Canadian version would not be able to be flashed. I haven't gotten to the stage of sending the serial number to the flash guy but I expect you have.
Your buddy is lucky he's that close to a MG dealer; they are few and far between. If I was close to a good one I would still be on my Stelvio. I loved that bike, my favourite of all I've owned. I thought I was "handy" enough to look after it mechanically but once it developed electrical issues I was lost. Oh well, on to the next chapter.

I've learned that "Flash Tune ECU" can flash Canadian ECU's. I haven't yet had it done so I can't say how good they are. You can google their name for more info.

Yes I have. I just sent my ECU to FTecu, same company as mentioned above, and I still haven't gotten it back yet. It will be several months before I get to try it out, of course, and I only have about 600 kms on the bike, so the improvements may not be that apparent to me but I do expect good results.

The person I dealt with was Kirk and he assured me they have flashed many Canadian bikes. Cost was $200 U.S. plus shipping both ways.
