I have experienced very poor customer service from Gerbing. I don't deal with them anymore. I have a couple of their products and when they are toasted (pun not intended) I will go with another brand. They wanted to charge me $92 to send a small $15 item to Canada, and refused to walk it to the post office. UPS only. I actually spoke with a woman on the phone, and she flatly refused to accommodate me. And their Canadian "distributors" simply give you the U. S. website address. I have pointed this out to them. They no longer even respond to my emails. I know some of you have had good luck with them, but beware. They may be becoming too big for their heated britches. Good luck. I will never deal with them again. R ::007:: ::007::
What are you currently using now for heated gear???

I have a Gerbing jacket that I bought several years ago. That's it. When it's done, I'll go for another brand. I've been perusing the Internet but can't decide who makes the best stuff. R

I brought a keis heated body warmer a couple of years ago as I was doing 25k/yr & through winter. Made a big difference, but hands still suffered even with handguards. I didn't want full gloves as had plenty already so looked for liners & as I already had Keis brought theirs.
First time I rode with them I was disappointed as my hands didn't feel that warm, but then realised I'd been riding for over an hour in minus temps& wasn't cryingwith frost bite. Must have been okay
They come with a y formed wire, down each arm and plugging into a 3 way adaptor to the already fitted power cable. Spare connector for their heated insoles I assume. This wire was to short in the arms when stretched out on a bike and the wire that plugs into the glove eventually pulled out. I rang motohaus about this & it seems keis are aware of this as they'd been sent a whole load of spare cables which they sent out no questions.
Unfortunately they changed conectors from positive lock types to simpler push fit that come apart a lot easier. Good idea for people like mewho always gets off forgeting to unplug and therefore saving the connectors wear. Motohaus chaged cables no problem, real good customer services.
Now swapped gloves to the two finger things as supposed to be warmer as even with heated liners long trips in minus temps still start to get real uncomfortable.

Those aren't the 'Synergy' gloves are they? If so, you seem to be one of the rare customers that got a decently working pair...good on ya! 8)
So true. The wife and I have Synergy gloves, heated vests and she also has the heated jacket liner. When they work, they are very nice. I've blown out multiple controllers and I'm currently waiting for their newly redesigned controller to replace one that failed earlier this season. Not had too many problems with the glove controllers, only had to replace one of those. Heated gear makes all the difference for riding year round.

I have the Synergy heated liner and the controller went out after it was out of he 2 year warranty. I bought a Gerbing controller at the end of Sept and it went out in less than 2 months. They are back ordered on replacements. BTW, if you use either the Gerbing or the new Synergy rheostat type, you have to buy a plug that goes into where the old style controller went to bypass that circuit. The new ones and the Gerbing control the input lead to the jacket.

I went with the new Warm and Safe wireless dual controller, along with the 3rd gen jacket from Warm and Safe. My Synergy gloves plugged right in to the jacket, and work very well with the wireless controller. I also like that I only have one cable to connect.

Warm and Safe gets good reviews. I'm pretty sure they make all of the First Gear heated clothing as well. I have the EXO2 stormrider heated vest, which is very well made and produces gobs of very evenly dispersed heat. I use just an inline switch for contol right now because the controller took a sh*t when I dumped my last bike. This 'off' was slow speed on wet tarmac, with the handle bar on the controller side impacting the pavement first. I found that a solder joint and contact pad came loose from the PC board. Could have probably fixed it, but how long would it have lasted after that? I'm thinking that one of the warm and safe heat trollers may be the way to go as I don't hear of many problems with them.

I have installed hotgrips, still wonder if going with the heated gloves would have been better. if my electric gloves get wet, will I want to put them back on if I am not done riding? will I even be able to get them back on? with grips, the back of my hands occasionally feel the cold, gripping a bit tighter helps, but I can change my gloves based on the conditions and mix in the heat as desired. maybe both are required? I'm starting to think so.

my tourmaster synergy 2 came with a dual zone controller, so the options are there...even thinking heated pants and insoles. when conditions would be best for the full monty, we usually get snow to ruin the chance to use it.

I appreciate the feedback on the heated gloves. I have used the heated grips for years and love 'em but I'd like to have the tops of my hands warm also. The new Powerlet heated gear has me interested but I sure would alike to hear more from folks who have actually used the stuff. Guess if I put the purchase off for a few more weeks I won't need it this year.

tkad,

Get the Gerbing G3. They are water proof. Add the nikwax glove periodically and you are golden. Never had a leak to date.

this may actually work well with my new tourmaster synergy liner, the heattroller looks identical to what came with my jacket, maybe a little more research should be done on the electrical requirements just to make sure, but they look good. the revzilla video for them is quite good.

Sorry guys, just a bit of friendly banter :-[
Banter is good on a rainy day/night.

I am looking for a good heated glove. Tour Master revamped their glove though I have not found the difference. I use their jacket liner and like it a lot.

Tour Master sent a new 2.0 jacket liner when they were unable to supply us with a replacement controller. The new liner has a totally different controller with dials rather than push buttons. It says it will work with Synergy 2.0 gloves. My wife used the liner to control her 1.0 gloves. It worked, but she actually ended up with a burn on her finger which never happened with the original controller. So my guess is the 2.0 gloves will not burn you when using the new controller.
