In over 50,000 miles My previous 2013 never had a headlight bulb last 10,000 miles, not even LED’s

My 2018 one bulb burned out at 24,000 and the other bulb is still working fine at 30,000 miles

Seems like the Yamaha engineer’s that designed the Tenere lighting system should get a different job because of the very lousy job they did on the Tenere

Yea, 300 miles and both lights burnt out is for sure, silly. That being said, I'm happy to have the LEDs and hopefully they will last much much longer than that.

Well, amazon warehouse is about two miles from us so getting same day parts is probably a blessing as well as a curse. Regardless,I played it safe and ordered two. The first ones I was really interested in as they didn't require a ballast, but
they just did not fit (branded Oxilan) .They are about 1/2mm to big to get into the hole.
The second set fit fine and I had to finagle them to get the ballast in but worked out perfect. So far so good, very bright.
I have a question, based on the published photo of the led lamp that you bought….what power in watts are we talking about?….they are very different from those offered “normally” in the H7 led market with powers of 35w upwards , which are characterized by being large heat generators

I am not sure I am following? What is offered normally? Almost all of the H7 Leds I have seen has the ballast with the aluminum fins for heat dissipation, and the external "box" as well. Visually they are very similar to the cyclops in many ways, but much cheaper. All that being said, if there is a better alternative I for sure would be interested as I don't want this to be too much of a science project ;)

Sorry, I didn't clarify that I was referring to the “first” lamp you bought, oxylam brand…..it doesn't have a heat sink…..that's why it seemed strange to me. the second lamp would be the type "normally offered"

Assuming we are talking about this bulb - Oxilam H7 LED
I don't see a wattage mentioned in the Amazon description but the 2nd question in the Q&A is about the wattage.
Answered by the seller - said it was 12W. They also say it is a 5202 bulb.

I also looked at the Oxilam website - OXILAM®Official Store | Automotive LED Lighting for Cars, Trucks, SUVs
Not much there either. There is no info that I could find on the 5202 bulb.

I don't see that you mentioned what the bulbs were that you ended up using. I would also be interested in what bulb that was.

Ah, yea they claim that it dissipated heat etc. But I have my doubts :) They (The Oxilams's) didn't fit. So I couldn't use them.

AUXITO H7 Super Bright 20000LM LED Headlight Bulbs High/Low.

Installed these today. They went in with the standard caps.
Too soon to make any further comments.

Not really sure I can do a fair review. I don' t have anything to compare them to. I went from OH crap no lights when the sun went down, to these. I will say they seem to be just fine, and I have no complaints.

Well thank you that’s a very good comment ! Many folks would just say they are great weather they actually know the difference or not.

Yeah, like when someone says a product is great because it looks good . . . . and looks has nothing to do with the product.

There are a lot of different choices on Amazon 10,000 12,000 even 20,000 lumens but it’s pretty hard to really know how good or bad they are without actually trying them.

The problem is that there is a lot of misleading advertising regarding LED lamps….in the case of halogen lamps, when they speak of power in watts, or lumens, they refer to “each one”..but in LEDs, it is full of “false advertising”……they offer something that says 50 watts or 10,000 lumens….and then in the small print it clarifies “both”….that is why there are price differences, depending on what they are “really” offering. The truth would be that as "each lamp" has more watts, it also has more lumens and apparently the 25w led lamps are of a previous generation. the 35w ones are of an intermediate generation, and the 50w ones are of the latest generation, always speaking of watts of consumption in "each one"

I just want a light that lasts......tired of OEM burn out rate on my bike. Here in Canada days are long so limited night riding but I do want to be seen by other drivers.

Any recommendations?
